An American author with vast talents unrestricted by the bounds of modern Literature, Victor Gischler specializes in humorous crime fiction novels and books. While some of his work has been acclaimed from prestigious awards and nominations, He is known for his other works which have been adapted in some widely famous and revenue generating movies and Television series. Several of his work has been translated to Italian, Spanish, Japanese and French.
An artist who knows no bounds when it comes to creative and best selling works, Gischler has even earned his PhD in English from the prestigious university of Southern Mississippi. He is a stay at home dad and currently resides in Baton Rouge with his wife and son. During his early youth, he has always been fascinated with some great writers and their novels and always wanted to narrate stories in some way.
Early Life
Gischler’s obsession towards this genre began as kid when he used to stay with his grandparents and the only shows on that time were focused on the crime fiction category. He even wrote some comedy crime stories with his friends in the early childhood.
Victor Gischler reported in an interview that the very first story he wrote was in his first grade. The story featured a detective who was on a hunt for dwarves who were convicted of stealing doughnuts. This story featured too much gore and violence and that was a definite cry for help. Even at such a young age, an author was being born.
Victor has been a university professor who lived in Oklahoma and been doing a lot of things simultaneously. While on the verge of starting a family during which he began writing with a great book contract and started working from home free form all kinds of distractions and hindrances.
He then resigned from his university professor job and while his stay at home, he managed to take care of his young toddler. He also taught at a community college during which the idea of DeadPool Corps was given to him by Marvel Comics which was on a very tight deadline. He had to grade papers while simultaneously writing on five issues of comics.
Awards and accolades
It is definitely implied that Victor Gischler’s work has never been without some notable accolades. He has been nominated for the Edgar Award for the Best Fist Novel. This nomination was bestowed by American Author Anthony Award for Paperback Original. A major turning point in his career began thus.
Since then he has also won the Edgar Award for the Bets First Novel Finalist to appraise his noteworthy work on Gun Monkey. Some of his other Notable works include ShotGun Opera, Go-Go Girls of the Apocalypse, Vampire A Go-Go, The Deputy.
He also has several great reviews for Stay and Suicide Squeeze both of which are focused on Crime Fiction. He has recently designed an amazing new fantasy novel by the name of Ink Mage. It was already evident from his recent success that Victor Gischler was not only meant for novels and stories but his career was about to see major advances especially his stories being featured in movies and TV shows. The recently released DeadPool from the Marvel Universe might have you hold on to your seats with laughter and mirth along with mixed feelings of grief and thrill throughout the movie. Gischler has not only made contributions to the film industry but has also created wonders for the Television series. Believe it or not, personally he is a very humble and down to earth person who admits that some of his work has not been very well received .Practically the writer feels he can do the best of his work when he writes on novels without any outside hindrance.
