Jon Sharpe is a well-established writer who is widely known for the Trailsman books series, a Wild West book series that was published by the New American Library. The Trailsman book series is a century book series, which was first published in the year 1980 by renowned author, Jon Messman. Jon Messman penned the first 200 books using the Jon Sharpe pseudonym until the late 1990’s when he eventually retired. In the year 2004, author Jon Messman met his premature death. After Jon Messman’s retirement, the Trailsman book series continued to use the pseudonym Jon Sharpe to cover numerous ghostwriters including Robert J Randisi, David Robbins, Bill Crider, Will C. Knot and many others.
Currently, the Trailsman book series is still published using the pseudonym of Jon Sharpe by a team of different authors. Each year, the publishers release 12 Trailsman books with period appearance of Giant Trailsman titles. Seven Wagon West was the first ever, Trailsman book series title. The Trailsman book series are normally short and many at times are normally less than 200 pages. Skye Fargo is the protagonist is the Trailsman book series and is popularly known for his lake Blue eyes and irrespective of his sexual prowess, Skye is still single. The Ovaro, is a horse and Skye’s sidekick. Jon Messman was the original creator of the Trailsman book series who wrote the initial 200 installments in the Trailsman book series. Jon Messman also wrote several other books in the best-selling Nick Carter series.
Jon Messman, then went ahead and created yet another book series, which features another western detective, Canyon O’Grady. In the 87th installment, Canyon O’ Grady and Skye Fargo joined forces. Ever since Jon Messman retired, David Robbins has continued to be the principal author of the Trailsman book series.

Outlaw Trackdown
In Outlaw Crackdown, the protagonist, Skye Fargo threw finally thrown in the pokey, after brawling in the small town of Horse Creek. While in the pokey, the very last thing that Sky expected was the Marshal to ask for his assistance. The extremely notorious gang, which is being led by a fifteen-year-old boy has finally managed to rob the bank, and from the look of things, they are not planning to stop anytime soon. However, what Skye is not aware of is that the young killer has his reason for orchestrating the attacks in Horse Creek; revenge. With that said, the Outlaw is a brilliantly written book by author Jon Sharpe. It is the 389 book in the Trailsman book series and was published in the year 2014.
The Stallion Search
In Stallion Search, protagonist Skye Fargo not only loses his horse but also his memory as well after being shot at by a horse bullet. After fully recovering, Skye Fargo makes the vow to track down his horse as well as the horse thief and have his revenge. He begins by following the trails that the horse thief left behind and along the way he meets with the notorious Layton Gang and his most dangerous adversary Andrea Layton. The Stallion Search was published in the year 1998 and is book number 202 in the Trailsman book series.
Oasis of Blood
In the Oasis of Blood, author Jon Sharpe takes the readers to the sin swept badlands of Mexico. According to Skye Fargo, the badlands of Mexico are not the heaven of earth that he had expected. After rescuing a group of travelers, Jon Sharpe winds up in the badlands because travelers were planning to settle in the badlands. However, as Jon Sharpe came to learn is that the native tribes were not happy with the intruders and thus will do whatever it takes to ensure that they are ejected from the badlands.
The Salmon River Rage
In Salmon River Rage, protagonist Skye Fargo is miles away from home in North of the Oregon Trail, commonly known as the Landscape of Death by the locals. A deadly and extremely mysterious plague has decimated Walnut Woods town. A group of individuals has joined forces and has already begun anyone whom they suspect to be a carrier of the disease. The leader of the group is a maniac who is more than determined to ensure that he cleans the West; one victim after the other. The Trailsman, Sky Fargo embarks on a mission to save a courageous orphan and a schoolteacher. The schoolteacher accidentally finds herself in Sky Fargo’s arms. With the nearest police post several miles away, it is only Skye Fargo’s guns of iron and nerves of steel that will stop the killing of the two.
Silver Hooves
In Silver Hooves, the horse-riding protagonist manages to save two exceptionally beautiful sisters in the extremely treacherous mountains of New Mexico. Unknown to Fargo, he may have just made the biggest mistake he has ever made in his life. Someone has been orchestrating attacks on cattle drives and in the process leaving destruction and death in their wake. The two sisters are somehow connected to the series of attacks on the cattle drives, together with a fresh and unheard way of smuggling stolen silver to Dodge City. While looking for answers, Skye Fargo is taking to a town, where the only way that he can manage to come out alive is by shooting.
Mountain Mankillers
In Mountain Mankillers, the protagonist is taken to Dew Creek, where Skye Fargo is hired to help two orphaned sisters in defending their claim of the family’s gold mining company. Overwhelmed by his seductive employers, Skye Fargo tolerates the dilapidated town that is full of low down polecats and sidewinders. However, one-day several miners who had profitable gold claims disappear and Skye Fargo eventually finds himself confronting a man who has managed to ensure that he entangles the entire town in a complex web of fear. Skye Fargo decides to teach the man a lesson on respect. With that said, the Mountain Killers is a brilliantly written book and book number 205 in the Trailsman book series. All the characters in the Mountain Mankillers have been brilliantly developed, and the readers will feel as if they are watching a Wild West feature film.
