Writing novels that are both inspirational yet filled with suspense, the American writer Traci Hunter Abramson is in a league of her own. Really knowing and understanding the market that she’s cornered, she definitely has her own unique niche which she has carved out. Usually featuring characters that are found to be working within the CIA or FBI, she manages to fills her stories with both action and exciting. This allows her writers to really invest themselves within the action, constantly feeling as if they’re being held upon the edges of their seats at all times. Many of her characters are also Mormon, something which has allowed her to gain a following throughout the Mormon community at large.

Abramson has also been known to write stories featuring both sports and romance, something which really lends itself to the versatility of her voice, giving her a unique perspective and outlook. It also has allowed her to find a worldwide audience, not just limiting her to one particular type of reader, giving her work a more accessible approach overall. With a lot more to come, she will definitely be writing for a long time yet, with a lot more books penned for release on the horizon.

Early and Personal Life

Born and raised in Phoenix Arizona, Traci Hunter Abramson would grow up with a strong passion for all thing literature. When she was only twelve years old she would go and join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, something which would come to influence her work in the following years to come. Studying at Brigham Young University she would study business, something which would also come to heavily determine her career path in the years to follow.

Going on to work for the CIA she would stay with them for six years, ending her career their in 1995, having learned a great deal during her time there. Coaching at North Stafford High School for over twenty years, she manages their swim team, something she does whilst continuing to writer. Living with her partner, she has five children, as she continues to write regularly on a consistent basis, something which she continues to this very day.

Writing Career

Living in Stafford Virginia has come to be a huge influence over the work of Traci Hunter Abramson over the years. This can be seen in her 2009 novel ‘Lockdown’, which would feature a character who was dealing with the aftermath of having survived a school shooting. Writing this was said to be very cathartic for her, and this level of intimacy can be seen throughout all of her work, especially within her characters who are highly believable and realistic in equal measure. It would be in 2004 that she would write her first novel ‘Undercurrents’, which would also be the first in a series of the same name, leading the way to many other series and franchises. Winning many awards, such as the ‘Whitney Award’ in 2017 for her novel ‘Safe House’, she is definitely a writer whose career will carry on growing from strength-to-strength.

Crossfire

Initially brought out through the Covenant Communications publishing label, this would first come out in 2010 on the 28th of January. Setting up the third title in the ‘Saint Squad’ series, it would follow on thematically from the previous two titles, much in the same vein as before. With its own self-contained story, it would also pave the way for the fourth title, this being called ‘Backlash’, which was also released in 2010.

Loosely connected by the theme of being set around a team of special operatives known only as the ‘Saint Squad’, this collection of novels are essentially stand-alone stories. Combining action, suspense and high drama with elements of romance, it really does manage to pull out all the stops. Taking in a whole variety of exotic locations too, Abramson definitely manages to keep the reader glued to the page for the entirety of the novel. This is something that she clearly excels at, and this particular title is no exception, with a strong leading protagonist in the the main role.

Following the character of Special Agent Vanessa Lauton, it sees her living in what is essentially a lie for the past year. Submerged deep undercover in one of the Caribbean’s most deadly and powerful terrorist groups, she is currently posing as a member there. That’s when her main CIA contact has a sudden heart attack leaving him to be replaced by none other than US Navy SEAL Saint Squad member Seth Johnson. The main problem though is that Vanessa was all set to marry him six years prior, and now the passions are rising once again, as they aim to take down one of the deadliest terror threats known to date. Will they survive this terrifying ordeal and save the day? Can they keep their passions contained long enough to do so? Who will be caught in the crossfire?

Obsession

Released through the Covenant Communications publishing outlet once again, this would be a stand-alone title from Abramson. It would, though, feature many hallmarks that she has now become famous for, such as suspense, action and romance. First published in 2011, it was originally brought out on the 1st of September and really is a definite must for any fans of the author.

Living her life constantly in the limelight, Kendra Blake has never known privacy, with her parents being famous actors, and now her being a pop singer too. That’s when a bomb goes off at one of her shows, leaving her to get away from it all by taking up in a remote cabin in Arizona and looking for the quiet life. Her peace is soon disturbed though with the arrival of FBI agent Charlie Whitmore who has been assigned to keep her safe, as he stays right on the other side of the street. Soon they find themselves in close quarters after some extreme weather, leading to passions rising, when suddenly it appears that there’s a connection between Kendra and a serial killer on the loose. Will they be able to keep their passions contained? Can they stop the serial killer? Who is it that apparently has the deadly obsession?

I love every series I have read so far: The Guardian Books, The Saint Squad Books, and The Royal Books. I can trust that any book I pick up to read that is authored by Traci Hunter Abramson will be worth spending the investment of time reading. She is a very talented, knowledgeable, and captivating writer. I love the witty and sometimes comical banter between her characters. What fun! I fall in love with each member of the Saint Squad (and their wives of course), each member of the Guardians (and their companions), and each member of the Meridian Royal Family. I look forward to rereading these wonderful books over again. Thank you for the hours of pure joy and pleasure.
