Jennifer goes usually by Jen and has written over a dozen young adult novels, many of which have received positive critical acclaim and reception from readers. She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. When it comes to writing, she’s been writing for a long time, as far back as she can remember. She wrote and completed a full book when she was in high school, something she calls a practice book and promises the world that no one will ever see. She wrote the book Golden when she was in college the summer after her freshman year, at nineteen years old.

The author not only holds the accomplishment of having penned her first novel and having it published while she was nineteen years old, she was able to write five more books and sell them while still enrolled in college. On top of writing novels largely aimed at a young adult audience, Jen also wrote original pilot scripts for various television networks, among them MTV and USA.
She is a top expert on fandom psychology and cognitive science when it comes to fiction and imagination. She works as an associate professor teaching students at the University of Oklahoma, holding a dual appointment there in professional writing and psychology.

However, she was not anticipating a random event changing her plans and her fortune. Everything is suddenly turned upside down when Tobias Hawthorne passes away. The billionaire did not leave his fortune to his family or friends but instead this teenager, Avery, has received nearly all of it. But she has no idea why this is the case or even who the billionaire is. It’s a puzzling mystery– in more ways than one.
But there is a catch if Avery wants to receive the inheritance. She has to move into Hawthorne House, a gigantic and sprawling manor where there are secret passages. Every single room there has the influence of the elder man who passed away and shows the love that he had for all things riddles, puzzles, and codes.
However, Hawthorne House currently still plays home to the relatives that Hawthorne has just put out of his inheritance. That extends to the four grandsons, who are intelligent, magnetic, and dangerous. They also grew up thinking that when the day came that their grandfather passed away, they were set to inherit the billions he possessed.
Grayson Hawthorne was supposed to be the heir, but this new twist has changed everything. He also doesn’t trust Avery, thinking that she must be trying to con them in some way, and won’t stop until he takes her down. Then there’s Jameson, his brother, who thinks that the girl is simply one last attempt at his grandfather to provide a puzzle or a riddle that must be solved.
Caught up in an entirely new world with privilege, wealth, and danger everywhere, she’s going to have to play the game if she wants to make it through this. What will happen, and will she really earn billions? Read this book to find out!
