T. Davis Bunn is an internationally-renowned author who has managed to sell over seven million books in 16 different languages; Bunn is equal parts author, scholar, teacher, and adventurer. He has at times been referred to as “consummate writer”, “renaissance man”, “wise teacher” and “gentleman adventurer” by his reviewers and friends.
Born in 1952, T. Davis Bunn is an American author who was raised in North Carolina. He left for Europe at 20 years of age. While in Europe, he completed his first graduate studies in economics and finance, and started a career in business as an international financial expert; a career which allowed him to visit over 40 countries in Europe, Asia, Middle East and Africa.
Davis came to faith in Jesus Christ at the age of 28, while residing in Germany. At that time he was managing an international financial advisory group. He began to write two weeks after his born-again experience. Ever since then, writing has remained both a passion and a vocation for him. Bunn actually wrote for a period of nine years and finalized the writing of seven books before his first was acknowledged for publication. During that period, he worked full-time in his international business career, managing to travel to up to 2 or 3 countries each week. Amazingly, his first published book, The Presence, was launched in 1990 and became a national bestseller.
Bunn is a writer who specializes in the writing of historical fiction and legal thrillers, in which the Christian faith plays a major role. He has collaborated with Canadian author Janette Oke in writing some of his novels, and has also co-authored other novels with his wife Isabella. T. Davis Bunn recently began publishing using the name Davis Bunn. Bunn has also in the past made use of the alias name Thomas Locke to refer to himself. Davis is a sought-after speaker in the art of writing who has over the years been honored with 4 Christy Awards for his brilliance in historical and suspense fiction. His novels are mostly published by Bethany House. Currently, Bunn and his wife reside in Oxford. He serves as a Novelist in residence at Regent’s Park College, Oxford University.
Some of T. Davis Bunn’s Best Selling Books
The Warning (Reluctant Prophet Series, Book 1)
This book was originally published in 1998. The main character of the story is named Buddy Korda. Buddy Korda is a good-natured banker who becomes one of the most unlikely prophets as you read through this fascinating story. Buddy experiences two weeks of nightmares and eventually starts to make sense of the disjointed images he has been seeing. The fragmented images start to fuse and begin to come into focus like an image projected onto a screen. The message eventually becomes unmistakably clear. “It is coming…..Forty-one days.”
This message leaves Buddy in a state of shock and confusion. He ultimately must decide whether to share this message and place his job, family and even his own life in jeopardy. Who would even listen to this dreadful prophecy about the financial downfall of America? Throughout this struggle, Buddy finds out that he cannot avoid God’s call upon his life. It is an intriguing tale where we see Buddy’s personal struggle of faith; while at the same time he feels the pressure of the future of a great nation being at stake and the lives of people he did not even know depending on him. What would happen if no one believed him?
The Ultimatum (Reluctant Prophet Series, Book 2)
In The Warning, we met Buddy Korda who received a message from God to warn the people of an impending economic calamity. The prophecy eventually came true, and the world plunged into a second Great Depression.
In The Ultimatum which was published in 1999, economic despondency has spread across America. 18 months after Buddy Korda had cautioned the nation of the impending economic disaster, he receives a new vision: in which he must call the nation to repentance and have an amendment explicitly protecting religious freedom added to the U.S. Constitution. The call of God upon his life, points Buddy to Washington, D.C., where his friends—including Linda Kee, who is a famous reporter familiar with Washington’s power structure—organize efforts which will eventually bring America face to face with its destiny and heritage. This extraordinary movement threatens to bring a transformation to the present political process, and the Washington power brokers who have seen it coming, will stop at nothing to keep the movement and Buddy from achieving success.
The Great Divide (Marcus Glenwood Series, Book 1)
The Great Divide was published in the year 2000. The story follows attorney Marcus Glenwood who after experiencing a shattering personal calamity quits his job at a prominent corporate law firm in order to seek sanctuary in a small town in North Carolina and rebuild his life. However he unexpectedly finds himself in the biggest and most emotionally draining case of his career.
Glenwood, who is fragile and spiritually wounded, meets Alma and Austin Hall, whose daughter Gloria Hall disappeared in China while probing into the slave-like practices of New Horizons, which is the world’s largest manufacturer of sports shoes and athletic gear. Convinced by Alma’s pleading, and their obvious anguish, Marcus chooses to accept the case.
Marcus cannot believe how fast his investigation unravels a web of treachery that stretches from Washington D.C., to Europe, to Asia and then back to his own North Carolina backyard. The huge multinational sports company New Horizons has never lost a case since it has the money and power to hinder, manipulate, threaten, harm, or even eliminate, those who stand against its goals. However in this case they make the mistake of underestimating Marcus Glenwood.
The story follows Glenwood as he cautiously and gradually moves to expose the perturbing truth about New Horizons, Gloria Hall’s disappearance, and eventually himself.
Winner Take All (Marcus Glenwood Series, Book 2)
Winner take all was published in 2003; the story comes after Marcus Glenwood’s spectacular legal and legitimate triumph over New Horizons Corporation which was achieved at a stark individual price to Glenwood. The story follows Glenwood as he is gradually getting back on his feet, back into his legal professional practice and into a deeper relationship with Kirsten Stansted his love-interest.
However the CEO of New Horizons approaches Marcus looking for representation in a heart-wrenching individual matter. Dale Stedman (New Horizon’s CEO) claims that his one-year-old daughter has been kidnapped, by the famous opera diva Erin Brandt.
The case quickly becomes the epicenter of an international conflict and a media sensation. Before long, somebody is after both Marcus and Kirsten, using lethal scare strategies. Erin Brandt’s magnetic yet manipulative personality hides dark secrets and Marcus learns too late that she will not stop until she gets what she wants.

I’ve read several of your books and LOVE them. Recently finished The Book of Hours, and it truly was one I couldn’t put down. The first couple of chapters are a little slow, but when it gets going it’s incredible. The Night Angel was great too and getting ready to read Falconers Quest. Thanks you that I don’t have to be concerned about any trashy language, and that Christ is in every book. So refreshing.
I just finished reading THE ROWAN. Fantastic … I look forward to the in the series. Thank you!
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading 85 of Davis Bunn’s books (a couple of them twice!). Have been able to pass along lots of them to our wonderful church library. Have searched in vain to find “Deadly Games”. Maybe never got printed?
I just discovered David Bunn about 3 months ago. No idea why I’ve never heard of him before because I’m an avid reader, especially of Christian books. However, I am only reading his books now. I probably won’t get through all of them because I got such a late start (and there are so many), but I’m going to try. I’ve read about 10 so far. All exceptional. Best writer I’ve had the pleasure to read. Thank you, Mr. Bunn.
Just finished Berlin Encounter and Istanbul Express after devouring the Heirs of Arcadia series. I just had to read more. You’re the same age as my husband and we are amazed at your drive having written so many books while keeping a demanding career going and traveling. I feel like we are traveling at the same break neck speeds as Phyllis on her way to Kumdare. Love your books
Thank you for your incredible writing. I continue to read everything you have written. I love every book. Thank you
