Steffanie Holmes is an author of steamy paranormal and historical romance. Her novels feature witty and clever heroines, cunning witches, wild shifters and alpha males that get just what they want.

Steffanie, before she became a writer, worked as a museum curator and archaeologist. She loves exploring ancient conceptions of possession and love as well as historical settings. She is fascinated with how love can blossom between the most unlikely of characters, from crumbling gothic estates to Dark Age Europe.

When she’s not busy writing, she’s probably reading her 2 to 4 books that she reads on a weekly basis. She is obsessed with heavy metal and traveling. Since her husband is a musician, and all of her friends are crazy metalheads, they spend way too much money and time, traveling, going to gigs and music festivals. And debating the age old question: Black Sabbath or Iron Maiden?

Her house and land also keep her very busy as well. She also loves painting, brewing alcohol (she makes cider and mead), and baking delicious things. She lifts weights regularly, and a few times a year she goes bush, because she loves immersing herself in nature for a few days and hiking. Steffanie always returns bursting with ideas and desperately in need of a shower.

Instead of studying writing in university, she studied archaeology/ancient history, with a smattering of ye olde English papers for good measure. Becoming an archaeologist was her dream career since she was very young, and she’s still very passionate about ancient mummies and old ruins. As a part of her degree, she learned to read Ancient Greek, Egyptian hieroglyphs, Akkadian, and she was able to spend a summer at a field school in Greece exploring ancient archaeological sites.

But unfortunately it’s very difficult finding a job in archaeology when you’re legally blind. She needed a new career, and always loved writing so she thought she’d give it a go. Her love of ancient stuff fuels a lot of her books, and whenever she travels she visits as many ruins, cemeteries, and castles that she can.

“Art of Cunning” is the first novel in the “Crookshollow Foxes” series and was released in 2015. Alexandra Kline just landed her dream job, curating her very first art exhibition at the prestigious Halt Institute in the tiny English village of Crookshollow. However the dream soon turns into a nightmare when she is forced to work with the reclusive and arrogant artist that refuses to cooperate with her at all. When his paintings do not show up at the gallery on time, Alex goes out to his crumbling, gothic manor to give him a piece of her mind.

“Digging the Wolf” is the first novel in the “Wolves of Crookshollow” series and was released in 2016.
