Sophie Lark is a published author of fiction.

She is married and has children. They live together in the west Rocky Mountain area. She enjoys writing stories that involve romance and prides herself on them being both intelligent and intense. Sophie Lark is the creator and the author of the Colors of Crime series of fictional novels. The series first started off in 2019 with the publication of the debut book in the series, which is titled Sapphire. This was followed by the sequel, Black, the third novel, Violet, and then the ensuing novels, Crimson, Emerald, Snow, Ink, and Ash. Sapphire is the first fictional novel in the Colors of Crime series. In this story, readers get to check out a romantic thriller and also meet the main character, Lex Moore.

When it comes to life, Lex has chosen an unusual path. She’s not only a heart breaker when it comes to men, but she makes her living as a thief. She’ll do whatever it takes to pull the wool over men’s eyes and feels entitled to take what she wants from them. She’ll be even more interested in taking it if it is expensive.

It’s an unusual lifestyle choice, but it works for her. Lex is good at what she does and is always trying to get the maximum bag without getting caught. That all might change when she picks a bad target one day. Detective Byron Black is the exact type of person that she’s not trying to get mixed up with. Especially since he’s not one to let things go.

Byron is the type to go for vengeance. He’s fallen for Lex, but how long can that last? Apparently not that long, because once Lex has done her damage and his career is ruined, and she’s broken his heart, she’s made an apparent enemy for life. The detective isn’t going to let her get away from him that easily, especially considering what she’s done.

Meanwhile, there’s Luca Diotallevi. He’s a man that has fallen hard for Lex, and that’s a big problem for him. He also belongs to the Italian mafia and is doing his best to try and pull off a heist. The only thing is that the burglar herself keeps showing up and throwing a wrench in his plans. She wants the sapphire too.

Luca cannot allow this woman to get the sapphire and get away. He’s the one that needs to acquire the gem. At the same time, he’s having a hard time fighting his feelings for this beautiful thief. They’re more than a match for each other, but someone’s got to win and someone’s got to lose in the end. The only question remaining is who will it be.

At the same time, the detective is doing his best to try and hunt down Lex. She’s got her pick of male suitors, even if they have their own motives for tracking her down. Will she end up choosing her line of work and go for the sapphire? Is Luca more than just a fellow crime operator? Or will she go for a detective that she just can’t seem to shake? However, the two have to commit to keeping things professional. That’s partly to keep their own careers safe, but also because Holly is managing a campaign that is being threatened by a bomber. Meanwhile, the detective is noticing that there are similarities here to a case from the past that ended up burning him badly.

It’s not a good time to enter into a new romance, but that doesn’t seem to matter when the chemistry is this red hot. Can Holly manage her career and take on a new romantic prospect at the same time? Will Byron Black’s emotions when it comes to this stunning red head end up putting her in danger from an old foe?

   I just finished reading the entire “Brutal Birthright” series. However the last book Heavy Crown with Sebastien/Yelena is incomplete. And nothing further is offered on Amazon. Where do I get the rest of that book?

     The ending is 18 years after they met. The series that follows is The Kingmakers which follows the children from the birthright series.
