Scott Baron is an American author that was born in Hollywood, California which she believes is the reason for his offbeat and absurd sense of humor. He wrote “Daisy’s Run” his breakout novel in 2018 and is known for his O. Henry-Esque twists in his oddball stories. Before he moved back home and started living in Venice Beach, Los Angles, he had been in Italy as a college student before he came back and started working in the movies. He has been working on and off on novels and short stories and is a screenwriter of both television scripts and features. During his stint in Hollywood, he has worked as a writer and producer among several other roles. Baron currently writes novels that are intended to be adapted for film and TV in the science fantasy, young adult, romantic comedy, mystery, and science fiction genre. When he is not writing his novels, he can usually be found working a day job as an on-set medic for TV and film, which is something that he has been doing for more than two decades.
Baron got started writing with screenplays in the year 2004. His first was a zombie action story titled “Vigor Mortis” that he then followed up with several teleplays and screenplays. He would write a ton of scripts for the better part of a decade before he got the urge to become a fiction author while working on a TV show in 2015. He had charged with the writing and rewriting of “Living the Good Death,” a romantic comedy that combined rom-com with aspects of the dark and supernatural. While rewriting the story, he realized that while he was making excellent scripts that were beating the best in screenwriting competitions, a proper novel that was properly fleshed out would be better received. Not wanting to lose the impetus, he decided to convert the manuscript into a novel and expanded the story of the lead character that believed she was Death that came to Earth in human form. She could never stop writing fiction after that and while he still works a day job as an on-set medic, writing novels is what he truly enjoys. “Living the Good Death” was her first full-length novel that he published in 2017. He published “Daisy’s Run” the first of the “Clockwork Chimera” in 2018 and has never looked back since. Scott Baron now has more than eighteen novels in the “Clockwork Chimera,” “Dragon Mage,” and “Interstellar Slayer Saga” series of novels.
Scott Baron’s “Daisy’s Run” is set in deep space where life can sometimes be a drag. Daisy does not think it is that bad as she thinks that it could have been worse. They are not yet dead and she could always chalk this up as a win in her book. But before things can go back to normal, she will need to find out who was making her return home so dangerous. She had been rudely interrupted from her cryo-sleep which was quite a jolt given how much she was enjoying her sleep. Moreover, the disturbance had happened at a time when there was a ship-wide crisis to deal with. The only good thing is that the ship’s the crew had not been blasted into space or their spacecraft decompressed, which would have been a disaster. But it could just be a stay of execution and since they are stuck on a crippled ship deep in space, things are not that good. Nonetheless, the ship is limping back home to Earth though the nerves on board could not have been more frayed. Their spacecraft is controlled by a supercomputer AI which had recently been showing some bizarre quirks. Meanwhile, Daisy has increasingly growing becoming uneasy with the computer’s disconcerting cyborg assistant snooping into her affairs. Combined with mechanically enhanced crew, Daisy feels a growing sense of dread as she suspects that some of them might not be what they seem.
Scott Baron’s “Pushing Daisy” which is the second novel of “The Clockwork Chimera” series is a thrilling follow-up to the first novel of the series. Daisy had made a career of escaping from malcontent artificial intelligence and deranged cyborgs. But she had somehow managed to come out the other side relatively unharmed but unfortunately, she had found out that she is now a bigger mess. There has been a dangerous turn of events that has now put her life in peril and what she had been confronted with in recent times now looks mild compared to what she is facing now. The threats she has to deal with involve not only Daisy and her crewmates but are also a threat to global peace, prosperity, and security. Earth was in deep trouble and while she did not like to admit it, Daisy was the best hope it had. Forced to rely on her wit and take action, her newfound skills are tested to the limit and sometimes to breaking point. Unfortunately for her enemies, they underestimated the type of person as they thought they could push her around as they wished. Daisy is not going to let anyone dictate her life as she will push back and get what she wants.
“Daisy’s Gambit” by Scott Baron opens to Daisy happy as she could ever be as she believes she may finally have that triumph she had been looking forward to for so long. But then everything went topsy-turvy, which was something that has happened one too many times in her life that she has come to almost expect it. But this curveball was a different type and far worse than she could have ever imagined. Her loved ones are threatened, her home is in jeopardy, and with the survival of every one of them doubtful. Daisy must once again step up and take charge to fight the hard battle that she had once upon a time had wanted nothing to do with. Unfortunately, the enemies that had attacked and ravaged her home planet seem to be a bigger threat than she had imagined and if she does not make her decisions fast enough, she might have to deal with huge losses that might negate all her previous wins. She is setting out on what may be her most audacious and difficult quest yet and has to succeed even though all she had to back her up is a scrappy team of survivors hanging on for dear life.
