Scarlett Peckham is a published author. She is known for writing historical romances that involve alpha heroines quite frequently as well as hints of feminism, sexual freedom, love, intimacy, and complex women finding romance. She divides her time between the city of Los Angeles and coastal Oregon with all of its spooky cliffs.
She has written multiple series, including the Secrets of Charlotte Street series of fictional novels. This series kicked off with the release of the debut novel in the series, The Duke I Tempted. This was quickly followed by the second novel The Early I Ruined and the third novel in the series, The Lord I Left. She is also the creator and the author of the series Society of Sirens.
Scarlett promises her readers tons of angst as well as a lot of tension and plenty of plot twits, as well as great lighting, beautiful prose, and grand feelings.
Scarlett also has a newsletter that readers can sign up for so that they are always the very first to hear about the cat photos and new releases that she has. Her novelette is available for free as well and can be downloaded if you check Goodreads for the link, titled The Emerald Widow.
The author first fell for the genre of romance novels when she was younger. She was a child when she would sneak those secret paperback books from her grandmother’s stash in the closet. It turns out that reading those books was a lot of fun and she had gone through all of this secret library’s stories available and had since begun to think about possibly writing a romance novel of her own.
Scarlett enrolled in Columbia University, where she studied English. She was able to start her own career working in communications, but whenever she had some time free she would find herself returning to an earlier obsession with those books you read quickly with the lights down and never want to put down.
She started off her first series with The Duke I Tempted, which won her a Golden Heart. It was also selected by BookPage to be the best romance novel of 2018. The New York Times Book Review also called the book ‘astonishingly good’.
Scarlett moved herself to the city of Los Angeles after being in Brooklyn and London for the majority of her life. She loves to read and write romance and when she is not busy doing that she likes to drink a lot of white wine, put on The Real Housewives to enjoy, and dress her cat up in a bow tie.
Scarlett says that she spends a lot of time on Instagram and X formerly known as Twitter, perhaps far too much time! She can be reached through her home page.
The Duke I Tempted is the first novel in the Secrets of Charlotte Street series of fictional novels by Scarlett Peckham. If you love a good romance story, then check this one out!
The Duke of Westmead is someone who appears to have every detail attended to. He is immaculate, meticulous, and above all controlled. No one would ever think that someone so proper and seeming like they are someone adhering to the rules at all time would belong to the top illicit secret club in London. Not even his future bride.
The Duke is someone who has overcome going through financial hard times (which really means total ruin) and even has been able to restore the family name. Now he’s one of the top investors living in London, a total legend.
However, there is a catch. In order to hold on to everything that he has, the Duke of Westmead must come up with an heir. A biological one. For that, he’s going to need to secure a wife, the type of spouse that won’t be able to find out the secret desire that he has when the sun goes down to be on his knees. She also has to be the type to accept him as he is and not make ridiculous demands on his heart, which has been scarred over for some time.
Unfortunately, Poppy Cavendish is not a woman that fits that bill. She was a botanist that taught herself everything she knows and has plenty of ambition. Now she’s designing a garden ballroom, the exact one where the ambitious Duke wants to woo a woman to wed him. She’s been the type to work all her life to be independent, and struggled hard for the privilege.
Now she wants the money to be able to make more of her exotic nursery business, and taking on a marriage is the last thing on her mind. But when she sees Westmead, with his beautiful eyes and starchy appeal, and somehow ends up in a situation where the only way to save her nursery is by marrying the duke, Poppy is concerned that she may end up being vulnerable in this business arrangement.
Poppy knows that being wed to the duke for money would mean sticking to the plan. But what happens when she starts wanting more and wants the duke to open up his heart? Will he be able to reciprocate, or will she find that this really is a marriage of convenience and nothing more? Read this tempting, scandalous historical romance story from Scarlett Peckham to find out!
The Earl I Ruined is the second novel in the Secrets of Charlotte Street series by Scarlett Peckham. If you liked all of the romance that came along with the first novel, check out the sequel!
Lady Constance Stonewall is a gorgeous woman, but she is also nearly as reckless as she is wealthy. She has accidentally set into motion a plan where she ruins the future that has been set forth for the Earl of Apthorp, and now it has. All because of her gossip column.
Now she is forced to do what any young lady with honor would do and offer up her own hand in marriage. Something like that, at least. She actually has a plan to come up with a fake engagement that could end up saving his reputation. All that it would involve is around a month with the dullest man to ever walk in England.
It doesn’t help that the Earl is disapproving of just about everything that Lady Constance values. Everyone thinks that this House of Lords politician is terrifically boring, but there might just be another side to him and more to the earl than one sees at first.
Julian Hayword’s future goes to hell in just one afternoon and it’s the woman he’s in love with who is to blame. Now his heart is shattered and the Earl of Apthorp decides there’s no better time to repair things by pretending they really are in love to fool society.
Constance may have met her match– and this is causing her to fall for the earl. But will he get over the heartbreak and fall for her too? Read this romance to find out!
