Incidentally, the protagonist had been mated to a heir apparent, Dominic, the prospective shifter’s king. Unfortunately for Ruckler, Dominic dies during an attack, prompting Ruckler to take the power previously held by him. On the flip side, Ruckler is partly vampiric, necessitating feeding her on blood frequently. The ensuing story as Ruckler’s friends help her with the feeding is funny and exciting in this book that won Scarlett Dawn a literary prize.
