Sawyer Bennett is the pen name of Beth Noble, a snarky southern woman and former trial lawyer who put pen to paper in order to finally start recording all of the stories and notes that were floating in her head. Her husband Shawn works for a company which lets him fly all over the world while she stays at home with their daughter Parker and two big, furry dogs who hog the bed. Sawyer would like to report she does not have many weaknesses but can be bribed with a nominal amount of milk chocolate. Sawyer says that her proudest accomplishment in life was the adoption of her daughter Parker in 2014. Sawyer lives with her family in Raleigh North Carolina, but owns a second house in California. Although they spend a lot of time there, Sawyer has said that she does not write in the California house so far.
She is self described as “Empathetic, funny, creative, honest, procrastinator”. and spends her free time reading. Although spending time with her daughter doesn’t leave a lot of time for writing.
Sawyer is the New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author of several contemporary romances that including the popular Off Series, the Legal Affairs Series, the Last Call Series and the Wicked Horse Series. She also writes the Cold Fury Series for Random House and The Forever Land Chronicles with Big Dog Books.
Sawyer says that the scenes in her books are not based on her own personal experiences, but instead is a product of her imagination. She tries to create a scene where the man gives his partner everything she wants without her having to ask for it.
A popular feature of Sawyer’s writing is the dual point of view employed by the author in order to tell the same story from the different perspectives of each character. Her ability to write book back to back ensures that she is constantly releasing new content, to the delight of her fans.
Literature
One of Sawyer’s most popular books series, the Off series follows unlikely relationships that form between characters after chance encounters. The first book follows Ryan Burnham and Danny Cross, two young people who grow up in two vastly different worlds. Ryan’s dreams of joining the NHL are crushed at the command of his parents and Danny’s career is music is put on hold after her’s pass away. After a chance meet, these two people collide, offering each other a different perspective on life. An unlikely relationship sparks.
The rest of the series follows similarly unlikely relationships and follows them as they evolve and the characters develop.
Another of her many popular book series is her Legal Affair series, which follows McKayla Dawson and Matt Connover as their relationship spawns at the powerhouse firm of Connover & Crown, LLP.
It is another example of Sawyer’s excellent mastery of the contemporary romance genre. The six book series was followed by a seventh book, Confessions of a Litigation God. This novel details the affair of Matt Connover and McKayla Dawson as told in the earlier six books. What makes this book different is that it is told entirely from Matt’s point-of-view.
Sawyer’s Uncivilized series was the first departure from her usual genre and writing style as she forayed into the Erotic Romance part of her career. Met with critical acclaim, Uncivilized tells the story of anthropologist Dr. Moira Reed and Zacharias Easton as she tries to put a stop to some of Zacharias’ more uncivilized traits. It was soon followed by Love Uncivilized, which takes place eight years later and with marriage, two children and hectic careers wreaking havoc to wild man Zacharias life, Sawyer promises to show the reader precisely just how uncivilized love can be.
Sawyer’s personal experience with the United States Marines becomes apparent in the standalone series The Wicked Horse. Her mother was in the Marines, and this close relationship lends itself well to fantastic detail in the story and in its characters. The central character is Cain Bonham who has just taken up position of head of security at a local club after leaving the Marines. Sawyer has said that due to her connection and experience with the Marines this book became quite easy to write, despite its detailed accuracy regarding small details to do with the Marines.
Described by USA as the “series hot enough to melt ice” Sawyer’s Cold Fury Hockey series is opened by the novel Alex. It is so named as the main character is called Alexander Cross man, the cold-hearted hockey player. Hated by his fans for being the MVP and pushed into the sport by his father, Alex is not afraid to show the fans what he really thinks, flipping his fans the bird on occasional. Team management is not impressed with his demeanor and gives him the choice of replenishing his reputation with community service or take a seat of the bench. Alex remains steadfast until he encounters the tempting redhead with killer curves, Sutton price.
Sawyer is a very busy writer and has released my books in many different series, but has a soft spot for the Off Series, her first series. Although, she feels that she found that Legal Affairs was the most enjoyable series for her to write, for a few reasons. It gave her a choice to dip into her sixteen years experience as a Civil Litigation Attorney while writing, and allowed her to make more use of humor in her story.
Unlike most authors, who claim that they cannot pick a favorite character, Sawyer says she has no problem picking hers as Nix Cadwell from the Off Limits series. She feels that his actions and determination to do what he can puts him up in their estimation.
With her wide bibliography of books and genres cover by Sawyer, it is no surprise that she had the fastest accent acclaim in many years. Her fame and acclaim is well deserved. Supported by a loving husband, young daughter and enthusiastic fan base, Sawyer Bennett has much writing left in her.
