Sarah Woodbury is a bestselling American author of Sci-Fi, Historical Mystery Fantasy and Romance novels. She is the daughter of two historian parents. Her parents’ job greatly influenced her to develop an interest in the past. These interests encouraged her to study anthropology in school. A time came when the stories in her head were too much that they started to overflow. She had to let them out somehow. At this juncture, she decided to start writing fiction. Even though Sarah’s ancestry could be traced to Wales she got to visit the country for the first time when she was in college; and that was the origin of the longtime love she has for wales, its language, and its people. She is a mother to four kids, and she managed to convince her husband to give all Welsh names. Prince of Time

Two teenage friends David and Leuan travel in time so that they can change the course of history and rescue the medieval kingdom of Wales. Initially, David was trying to get away. They had to escape from a Company of English soldiers who have sworn vengeance for the recent untimely death of their king. Leuan was wounded, and they had nowhere to go, so he decided to put to the test his time travel theory. The both of them jump off a cliff and lucky enough for them the theory worked. They are taken back into the twenty-first century.

Learn is amazed by the kind of technology being used in the twenty-first century. He gets medical care beyond his imagination; it was something he had never seen before. At the same time, Llywelyn is laying on his deathbed. He has been put there by an arrow from a traitor. Moreover, once more, it is all in the hands of David and Anna and all that they represent. The survival of wales now depends solely on the two of them.

In the end, they decide to come together and sign a peace treaty between Wales and England. However, the English people throw in a bombshell by making it a condition that there must be a marriage between whoever will be the next king and the daughter of Llywelyn, Miss Gwen.

Prince of Time is the second book to be published in the After Cilmeri series. The author manages to create some conflict around David. He conflicted with himself on whether to go back and be in his own time or to stay in Wales. The author has also made good use of suspense and as much as the story keeps flowing it is hard to tell what twist the plot is going to make next.

Cold My Heart

Cold My Heart is the first novel in The Lion of Wales historical mystery series by Sarah Woodbury. In 537 AD, all the people faithful to Arthur retreat to a small to a small piece of land in the North of Wales. Surrounded from every side and heavily outnumbered, they are at a point where defeat is almost certain.

King Arthur’s life is at risk being threatened by an army much bigger than his: the army of Saxons led by Mordred. Myrddin, a knight, and Nell, a nun, are companions of the king. The two of them have been carrying a secret that neither one of them has been able to face. Each one of them predicted that a day coming, a day that will be cold and snowy in December, and when soldiers from Saxon will be sent by Mordred to Ambush and kill King Arthur. It is now up to the two of them to decide what kind of action they are willing to take and what sacrifices they are ready to make so that they can change the course of fate.

The story carries a magical feel, but it still does not dwell on sentiment alone. The characters in Cold My Heart have been created in a way that they all have lives of their own. It brings out a true feeling for Wales in the 5th and 6th centuries through the factions at war seeking the approval of the High Church. Though this is a tale that is familiar to most people, the author has found an away with her words and the Welsh culture to make the story interesting for her readers. Even though one knows what will happen at the end the story is still a page-turner because it has been write uniquely and in a different perspective.

Daughter of Time

Daughter of Time is a book that tells us the tale of a young widow. Her name is Meg. She is going through healing for the pain that she got during the short time she spent in her unhappy marriage. Meg falls through time, and she finds herself in the Middle Ages. She lands in the hands of Llywelyn Gruffydd, who is the last prince in the land of Wales. A good turn deserves another when Llywelyn Gruffydd welcomes and saves Meg; she returns the favor and saves him too. She manages to do this thanks to the knowledge she has about the future. Their alliance stands at risk since powerful forces are seeking to separate the duo. Meg and Llywelyn strive to keep working together because this is the only way that they can stand a chance to control the brutal, hazardous and shifting coalitions that keep undermining Llywelyn’s rule every other time. These alliances put at risk the very existence of wales. It is Meg’s and Llywelyn’s aim to build together a future where the death of Llywelyn does not come anytime soon.

The book Daughter of Time is a stand-alone novel that is in the world of the After Cilmeri series. The author expresses her great knowledge about time traveling. She has managed to create alliances between unlikely parties. The rich aspect of history is overflowing, and she still finds a way to spice up conflict and war so that it is not tedious to the reader.
