An American author, the writer Rysa Walker is an extremely well regarded one within her field, having produced countless stories to date. Writing about fantasy worlds with sprawling epic themes, she manages to chart and plumb the depth of her imagination to thrilling effect. This has allowed her to create worlds in which her many readers worldwide can lose themselves within, whilst also relating to her well drawn characters.
Early and Personal Life
Born and raised in Pensacola, Florida, in the United States, the future author Rysa Walker was born on the 18th of December in 1961. Growing up in America she would live in several different towns and cities across the country, all before settling down in Wewahitchka, Florida. This was at the age of ten, as she then went on to harness her skills as a writer and her passion for both English and literature.
Moving away from Florida at the young age of seventeen, she went on to attend graduate school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. It was here that she gained a PhD in the subject of Political Science, allowing her to broaden her scope a lot more academically. This, in turn, fed back into her writing, as she would use many of the ideas gained and put it back into her work and material.
Working at the University of Maryland University College, she took a position as a professor there in order to fund herself. Constantly writing throughout, she would always be concentrating on both her and her craft, always looking to build herself as an author. Following her first publication, though, she would quit this job, as she would then go into writing on a full-time basis.
Now living in North Carolina, she is still writing at this present time, as she continues to expand on her many series. This also includes her passion for science-fiction as well, as she holds a strong fascination for the genre as well, something which fuels her work. Not showing signs of stopping any time soon with this, she is expected to continue on for quite some time to come yet.

It was on the first of October in 2012 that she would publish her first debut novel to much acclaim through the ‘Kindle Direct Publishing’ route. This was to be ‘Time’s Twisted Arrow’, as it kick-started her writing career as a fully fledged author of science-fiction. Later this would go on to become ‘Timebound’ after Amazon acquired the marketing rights to it, as it would also become the first in the ‘CHRONOS Files’ series of novels.
Known for her long and expansive series, Walker is well regarded for the overall scope of her franchises. Creating a large over-arcing narrative, they manage to draw in a number of different themes and ideas, all with extensive world-building. These include such as series as her long-running ‘CHRONOS Files’ collection of novels, along with her ‘Delphi Trilogy’.
Winning awards over the course of her writing career too, she has made herself extremely visible to the critics as well. This includes her ‘Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award’, which she gained for her debut title, thus allowing her to find an even wider audience. It also saw Amazon undertaking the role of marketing and publishing, as they took it and distributed to a larger market.
Creating an audience for herself, she is very vocal about both her and that of her craft, always taking the opportunity to gain feedback too. Bringing out various audio-books of her work too, she has had her work translated into a variety of different languages over the years. Building a worldwide audience, she is not only a hit with the critics, but she is also appreciated by the general public.
With a lot more set to come, she continues to publish regularly, as well as maintaining a good relationship with her fans. Remaining highly visible both online and off, she has managed to build herself a strong reputation as an author of good solid science-fiction genre novels. This will carry on into the near future, as her writing career continues to grow at an ever rapid pace, with more books expected in the years to come.
