Ronie Kendig is a novel fictional writer in the romantic suspense genre. She grew up in a typical military family. When young her family moved quite often, this left Ronie attending about six schools by the time she got into fourth grade. Her only group of “friends” were the characters she created. She managed to build up creative characters that stirred up her writing career.

With a deep love and passion for people, especially for those that are hurting, Ronie volunteers in different organizations. She volunteers in writer’s organizations such as the American Christian Fiction Writers group where she mentors other writers. She obtained a B.S. in the field of Psychology at Liberty University.

Her upbringing makes it no surprise that she got married to a military veteran, a real-life hero. She got married on June 1990 and has been married to Brian for more than twenty years. They homeschool their children, their first child graduated in 2011. Despite her busy schedule, Ronie finds balance in her life and peace in her family and faith. Today she lives with her husband, four children and two dogs.

Awards

Ronie had a degree in psychology, this helped her create novels of intense, thrilling and raw characters. Since she got into the writing and publishing scene in 2010, her books have hit different bestseller lists and managed to earn different awards. She was won different awards such as the 2012 Christy Award, the 2013 Selah award, the 2012 Selah Award, and INSPY Award.

Her book Nightshade that featured the Discarded Heroes series managed to earn her several awards. She won the 2011 Family Fiction Reader’s Choice Award at the third place, the 2011 Inspirational Reader’s Choice Award and the Christian Manifesto’s Lime Award in 2010 for excellence in the Christian fiction. Apart from writing fiction series and novels, Ronie has written several novellas. These include the 7 hour direct-to-digital, the Central park Redezvous and the Denali Dreams novella collection.

A Breed Apart

A Breed Apart is an early series by Ronie Kendig, it features four novels; Trinity, Talon and Beowful. This series was highly rated and was listed among different bestsellers. “Trinity, Military war dog” is the first book. It features a story about Green Beret whose career was destroyed in Afghanistan. Forced to the sideline by a sad medical discharge, he and his military war dog, Trinity have to train other dogs and their handlers. However things take a new turn when military intelligence officer Kintz Darci is captured when secretly tracking the Taliban.

Only one dog can handle the extreme conditions to save Kintz and only one man can handle Trinity. Time is running out and they must track the Talibas. The novel features a fast-paced and action filled writing. It actually won two awards, the 2013 Holt Medallion Winner, best book by an author in Virginia and 2013 Inspiration Reader’s Choice Award in the Romantic Suspense genre.

After a successful first book, Ronie Kendig published a sequential book with the title “Talon, Combat tracking team.” After reading the first book Trinity, you will hardly wait to get your hands on this one. Once you start it, you will never want to put it down. This novel too features an action-packed, fast-paced, romantic suspense story.

The central character is Aspen, she loves and is committed to her brother. She is therefore willing to go through all lengths to find him when he get lost. Fortunately, his combat tracking dog knows just the right places to look. Even after the US Marine Corps declared him dead, Aspen wants his brother back, dead or alive. She is unwilling to let him die without fight. She adopts her brother’s former combat tracking team dog, Talon with the hope that she will come closer to finding peace about Austin.

Nightshade Nightshade is the first book in the Discarded Heroes series. The series features a compelling four-book series about heroes that have championed freedom, survived cruelties of war and now the heroes go back home, discarded and wounded. The latter books in the Discarded Heroes series are Digitalis, Wolfsbane and Firethorn. The Nightshade series is based on a central character Max Jacobs, one of the discarded heroes. He comes home and finds a wall of failure, in his friendships, his career and in his marriage too. From this time to the end of his life, he has a thread of hope. He tries to find answer in covert government operations, but could this be the best answer for him or will it bring more danger and create a dissension and further break up his family? Max Jacobs, former navy therefore finds himself fighting a new war, a war for his broken family. Suffering from a PTSD condition, Max cannot control his anger and is forced to get away from his wife who files a protective order against him. Max’s wife is then quite broken apart, after some time she discovers the source of a human interest story at a local newspaper story. Is she going to uncover Nightshade, an elite team that Max is secretly working with and endanger both max and herself? Ronie Kendig made a great release with the first debut of the series. The novel itself received several awards. The story features a full emotion and life. There is enough conflict about men that have to deal with issues that they had never planned. Surprise after surprise, the novels send the reader racing to the end.

Writing Style

Apart from writing about characters that are close to real, Ronie’s writing is largely centered on grand adventure. She has also won several awards in the Romance Suspense genre. Ronie’s writing is mainly centered on contemporary romance, fiction, suspense, mystery and thriller writing. Most of her books are largely rely on Christian fiction. Her books also feature close to real emotional situations, you will find yourself smiling and crying at several instances.

Ronie Kendig always comes forth with a hard-core, military, fast-paced inspiration and romantic suspense novel. Her books are unique and thrilling, she seems to manage to create her own genre of Romantic Suspense. The good thing is that she is the best in this field.

    As an old vet I so enjoyed reading Trinity and Talon. Starting Beowolf.How refreshing to find an author of military books without bad language and taking the Lord’s name in vain. I am hooked. THANK you!!!!!

    I never was a big reader till I found Kendig books.i read the fallen heros every year.. and always loved Metcalf family and just picked up the next two series.. thank you for all your work.. I look forward to reading the next two series I have..
