Ian Loome has written fiction under the pen names L.H. Thomas and Sam Powers. In 2021, he consolidated the titles under his own name.

The author grew up in many different places, including Canada, England, and Africa. He was born in Libya and much of his childhood was spent growing up in Africa under a communist dictatorship. He is a former journalist.

A tennis match held on the weekend was frequently against a KGB member or an East German Stasi. Ian has lived in many places all over the world and while there covered stories that were everything from celebrity interviews to features to raging violent crime.

He has also served several stints working as an assignment editor, a legislature reporter, and a newsroom manager. He is the author of the Liam Quinn Mysteries, the Joe Brennan series, the Rogue Warrior series, and various stand alone titles. When he has free time he plays blues guitar and has toured all over the country with a blues band that has hit the top of the charts.

Ian Loome is on the spectrum for autism and ADHD. He is married and resides in Canada with his partner Lori.
