Robin is a best selling author who is popularly known for her heartwarming stories of faith, love and courage. Her books have a dominant theme of the beauty of second chances and God’s grace. Robin never wanted to be a writer initially. She always had a theatrical nature since she was a child and was aspiring to be a movie star. While in school and as a young adult, Robin was involved in various theatre productions. She started writing and scribbling stories and poems in notebooks while in high school. She used to write for fun and used writing to transport her to any place any time. Robin grew her writing career and has written over seventy novels and novellas which have been translated to various languages such as Chinese, Dutch and French. Robin began her writing career in writing leisure books for the general market. This however changed when she got born again in 1997 and accepted her calling to write stories of faith, love and courage. She has published her novels under five main series which are Sisters of Bethlehem Spring, Coming to America, Where the heart lives, Hart’s crossing and Kings Meadow romance.
Robin’s Vote of confidence book is from the Sisters of Bethlehem Spring series. Robin talks about Guinevere Arlington who writes for a local newspaper and teaches piano in Bethlehem Springs, Idaho. Driven by the love for the town and its people, she decides to run for mayor. She is backed by a shady lawyer who believes that he can control her once in office. Gwen and Morgan McKinley who are both contenders in this position fall in love. Experiences during the campaign period make them re-evaluate decisions they had made in the past and helps them learn how to trust each other despite having broken hearts in the past. The story has its setting in a time when women were not supposed to be involved in politics. The novel is a great story about romance and goes ahead to show that what a man can do, a woman can also do it.
Dear Lady is a novel from series. Robin has the story set in Montana in the 1800s. Beth Wellington, an English woman escapes her arranged marriage by going to her ten year old pen pal friend, Janie Steel in Montana. She starts her life here as a school teacher. With time, the mayor shows interest in Beth, but she finds herself falling in love with the mayor’s friend. Soon Beth Wellington discovers that it’s not easy to escape her past even in a new country. Circumstances in her life force secrets in the open and help her discover who she really loves. The story is romantic, and has a dominant theme of faith and unexpected love. Belonging is from Where the heart lives series. Felicia Kristoffersen is sent west with her sister and brother after her mother dies. She is taken in by the Kristoffersen family. However after they die, she soon realizes that she was not legally adopted and had an option of either getting married to one of the Kristoffersen’s nephew or go venture out on her own. In her late 20s she leaves for Idaho and seeks to create a new life that is better than her painful past. She works hard to prove herself as a school teacher in the community. Colin Murphy, a local merchant tries his best to raise her daughter Charity and aims to give her education privileges that he never had. Colin and Charity have been living alone for five years after Charity’s mother died. Many women show interested in Colin but he pursues neither of them. However with time, he is able to see past his pain and pride and recognizes Felicia’s Godly heart. It’s a historical fiction with an easy plot to read about two hearts that were meant to become one and shows that it is possible to find love after loss.
Legacy lane is from the Hart’s crossing series. Angie hunter leaves Hart’s crossing for college and never looks back. Even when her widowed mother (Francine Hunter) needs care after undergoing some surgery, Angie opts to hire a nurse rather than go back home. Things change when Angie is passed over for a promotion at work and decides to go back home and nurse her mother. Her mother is excited and nervous at the same time for having Angie back home. She uses this opportunity to create a new connection with her and helps Angie change her ways with prayers and love. In the end Mrs. Hunter does manage to transform her daughter to a Christian. The whole time, Angie thought it was her mother who needed the healing and never thought that it was her who needed the healing. The book has no complex plots, it’s an easy and enjoyable book to read. The book is a good read and gives hope to those who are having a hard time trying to help their loved ones in the secular world and have wayward characters turn to Christianity.
A Promise Kept is from Kings Meadow romance series. Allison Kavanagh was so sure that that God was going to save her marriage and her husband. She thought that she would be happily married and live close to her family. But instead, ended up living in her great aunt’s mountain cabin and her little dog was her companion. This turns out to be a very lonely period for Allison initially. Soon she begins to make positive life changes by having close friends, meaningful hobbies and engaging in fulfilling activities. Eventually, she finds herself immersed in her great aunt Emma’s journals. From the journals, she discovers that her aunt was a strong woman and had faced similar situation to hers. She also discovered that her aunt used faith to carry her through her pain and struggle. Allison soon starts to do the same. In the end, the story teaches that you can truly trust in God for he works in mysterious, subtle ways in his own way and at his own time. The story alternates between aunt Emma and Allison through out the book. It’s a good read and an inspirational book that helps you understand that you are always part of a greater plan and that you are never alone in your struggles, God is always there for you.
Robin who is a mother and a grand mother enjoys being with her family, reading books that make her cry and watching romantic movies. Her primary hobby is knitting and she particularly loves making prayer shawls. She also has love for horses and has spent many years competing, riding and raising horses since the age of fifteen. Robin has won various industry awards which include the Christy, the RITA, the Carol, the American Christian Fiction Writers, the Romance Writer of America and the Inspirational Readers Choice award. She is also a popular speaker various platforms such as the writers’ conferences and Christian women’s retreats. She is active on her Facebook page as she enjoys interacting with her readers.
