Regina Hart is a published author of fiction. It is also a pen name utilized by the author Patricia Sargeant, who also writes under the pen name of Olivia Matthews.
Regina, also known as Patricia, spent her childhood growing up in New York City. From an early age, she was very much into reading. It should be no surprise that she went on to become a published author as it was something that she had wanted to be from a very early age. She has been inspired along the way by writers such as Walter Mosley, Dick Francis, and Tami Hoag.
Now a published author just like she always wanted to be, the author writes under her own name as well as two other pseudonyms. She uses the Regina Hart pen name to write novels of contemporary romance that focus on sports. The author has many hobbies and interests, and among them are following track and field, basketball, and football in the college league and professional league as well. The teams that she roots for include New York’s Giants, Jets, Knicks, the West Virginia Mountaineers, and the Syracuse Orangemen.
In her novels, she features fictional teams such as the NBA’s Brooklyn Monarchs, who play for Brooklyn, New York. In real life, she lives in Ohio along with her husband.
Sargeant has had much success through the course of her career, winning awards and even seeing some of her novels hit the best sellers’ list. Her writing has been featured nationally in many different publications. She has also promoted herself and her work through interviews on various podcasts. She has also appeared at events as a keynote speaker and a presenter. When she isn’t busy doing that, she can be found hosting a workshop on writing, as well as offering fiction writing courses online.
Regina Hart is the creator and the writer of the Brooklyn Monarchs Trilogy. This engaging series first became available for readers to enjoy with the publication of the debut novel Fast Break in 2011. That was quickly followed by the much-anticipated sequel, Smooth Play, in 2012. The third novel would round out the trilogy and Keeping Score was published in 2012.
Fast Break is the first novel in the Brooklyn Monarchs trilogy by author Regina Hart. Kick off this series with a bang and check out this totally intriguing first installment of the series of fictional novels for yourself!
When it comes to professional basketball, all of the rumors are true. Not only are the players at the top of their game professionally, they also live up to the larger than life image that most people have of pro players. It’s all about the money and the fame around the clock, whether they’re playing on the court or they’re off the clock and living it up in their personal lives.
Hart brings readers all of the action caught behind the scenes in this series that revolves around the pro players that make the game so exciting. This is a game where everything you do matters, with high stakes and always going for the win. Main character DeMarcus Guinn knows that better than anyone. He has always been competitive and tried to be the best.
Now he’s transitioned to being a coach for the first time in the NBA. It’s a great job to have, even if he is in charge of arguably the worst team in the league. He himself was named MVP twice and won championships three times, so he does know the game and what it takes to get to the top. Now he is determined to get this team out of the bottom, doing it his way.
The only thing bothering him is Jaclyn Jones. She’s the franchise owner and has a lot of opinions. It seems like every time he turns around, there she is to fight what he wants to do. He’s annoyed, but he’s also intrigued by her. This is the type of one on one situation where he feels he has an equal, as Jaclyn never backs down. In fact, the whole thing is becoming vaguely seductive.
Jaclyn’s family owns the team and they want to turn things around. There’s a lot of pressure on DeMarcus to produce results. If the team doesn’t improve, the team could very well be sold or disappear. That would be a huge blow both to the players and the community. Jaclyn is always accustomed to being the one calling the shots. This time, she’s going to have to learn how to get along with the coach if they want to get results.
She has to admit that she likes the fire and determination that DeMarcus displays. She also feels a certain type of way when she’s around him, but wants to keep things professional as long as she can. There’s a lot that is at stake here, and they’re both invested practically to the point of no return. They both have passion, but will that be enough to turn things around? And can they resist their feelings for each other? Find out by reading Fast Break!
Smooth Play is the second novel in the Brooklyn Monarchs trilogy. If you loved the first book, then check out this engaging sports sequel too!
When it comes to professional basketball, you need to have the talent as well as passion in order to make it. Athletes are used to performing at the top level, but there’s a special type of chemistry required in order to provide that magic that takes you all the way to victory.
Main character Troy Marshall is an expert when it comes to public relations. He’s good at solving problems, responding to crises, and making dreams happen. Now he’s getting challenged more than ever attempting to manage an explosive NBA team. But it’s all worth it, only sharpening his skills and giving him the opportunity to give something back to the local community.
It’s too bad that one reporter is trying to get under his skin. He’s used to charming problems away, but this reporter’s different. Andrea Benson is trying to get a scoop on this franchise, one that makes headlines and her career too. But will Troy’s charm derail her from her objective? Read this book to find out!
