Raymond L. Weil is a bestselling author of fantasy and science fiction novels from Clinton, Oklahoma. The author went to SWOSU, where he graduated with a bachelor’s in History and a Creative Writing minor and a major in Math. He has always been an avid reader and has more than two thousand novels in the fantasy and science fiction genre. Weil has a fascination with the space program and asserts that he has kept abreast of developments ever since it was launched. At one point in his teen years, he wanted to make a career as an astronaut but later on, he decided to just write about space. His friends had always told him that he had a very vivid imagination and this was confirmed when he published his bestselling debut novel “Dragon Wars.” Since then he has become a prolific author and now has more than forty novels in the “Dragon Dreams,” “Forgotten Empire,” “Star One,” “Earth Fall,” “Moon Wreck,” “Lost Fleet: Originator Wars,” “Slaver Wars,” “Star Cross” and “Lost Fleet” series. When he is not writing his novels, he loves watching soccer, camping, reading and playing with his grandchildren. For thirteen years, he coached a high school soccer team before he moved on and coached youth soccer for a dozen more.
Weil first realized that he wanted to become an author when he was in the fourth grade and started penning short stories. Partnering up with his friend, he soon recognized that he loved writing in the science fiction genre out of the several they were writing in. He started writing seriously in 2011 and published his debut novel “Gilmreth the Awakening” by the end of the same year. Since then he has been averaging three books every year, particularly since he is retired and can now write full time. Most of his novels are in the military science fiction genre and have been bestselling titles on the likes of Publishers Weekly and Amazon. Some of the authors that have influenced his science fiction and fantasy writing include H.G. Wells, Isaac Asimov, Jules Verne, Arthur C. Clarke, George Orwell, Ray Bradbury, Frank Herbert, and Robert Heinlein among others. What makes Raymond L. Weil’s novels so unique in the genre is that they have a scientific basis which he combines with a knack for entertaining and informing his readers. Moreover, he uses a conversational and more informal writing style which makes the story more relatable.
While Weil started writing seriously in 2010, he had quite the difficult path to publishing, which is common to many authors. However, he was persistent and took writing as a job because he loved it. He loved exercising his imagination and discovering new threads and complexities about his characters. For many years, he wrote as a hobby until his daughter suggested that he self-publish his novels as an independent author. He was surprised when one of his novels titled “Alien Contact” sold more than 15,000 titles, he knew he was onto something. A few novels later, he decided to retire and become a full-time author. The USA Today bestselling author now lives in Oklahoma alongside his wife of more than four decades.
Raymond L. Weil’s novel “Destruction” is about an alien race known as the Kleese, who see the Earth as a reservoir of conscripts that they can use to fight their many wars of aggression across the Galaxy. They are among the three most powerful Galactic Empires that control much of galaxy. However, while the Earth is full of potential conscripts, the humanoid species on it are very aggressive and the Kleese thus deem the planet a very dangerous place. They can be conscripted into the Kleese army but first, they need to be prevented from moving out and colonizing other corners of the galaxy. The solution is to get as many conscripts as they require and then blast earth into smithereens. Meanwhile, the head of the Smithfield Mining Corporation that is headquartered in the Vesta asteroid is making his own plans that the Kleese know nothing about. The aliens had taken marine Lieutenant Wade Nelson as one of their conscripts but despite spending years with them, he still desires to find a way back home to planet Earth. But in the meantime, he will bide his time and learn all that he needs to know so that he can effectively take on the Kleese when the time comes.
“Emergence,” The second novel of the “Galactic Empire” series by Raymond L. Weil opens to the Earth having been devastated by an attack by the alien Kleese. The Earthlings are attempting to reconstruct their civilization using several large steroids, the moon, and a stolen alien space station. Mason Randle has done a good job so far since he has the experience of rebuilding that he got when he was in charge of the evacuation efforts following the first destructive visit of the Kleese. The Humans have befriended the Kiveans and this time are determined not to run. They intend to rebuild a civilization that will not only help them thrive but also help them make war on the Kleese in revenge for the unprovoked aggression. Their friends the Kiveans are more technologically advanced as compared to the Earthlings though they are not very aggressive. Mason oversees the combination of both civilizations’ technologies to make a mighty fighting machine. Completed are two star fleets with several more being constructed in haste as it is not clear when the Kleese intend to attack and hence it is always better to be prepared. As it happens, the Kleese are angry that the Humans did not give up and have teamed up with the Kievans whose cities the aliens destroyed except for one. They intend to send a huge fleet that will finally stamp out the upstart Earthlings.
Raymond L. Weil’s “Rebellion” is set in the same universe as that of the second novel. A few of the human race inhabiting the Earth had managed to survive a devastating attack. Teaming up with the Kievans a highly advanced alien civilization, the Earthlings have managed to hold on to their civilization. Since most of the people had been killed off by the Kleese, there is a lack of human resources and building an army proves impossible until they decide to introduce cloning. But cloning has its problems as well but their secondary plan of causing strife between the Strell race and the Kleese seems to have been working for the time being. But Harmock the Kleese War Overlord believes he is about to defeat his most powerful enemies and he can, at last, take care of the nonaligned colonies. He can also venture further afield where the pesky humans reside on planet Earth. In the meantime, the Kiveans and the Humans have been talking with the non-aligned worlds and negotiations are in high gear towards forming an alliance based on the trading of technologies and shared defense. It is a race against time as the Kleese may attack at any time and humans will need numbers if they are to survive.
