Rachel Hauck is an award-winning and bestselling writer of Christian women’s fiction, chick lit, and romance novels. She debuted with the 2004 title “Lambert’s Pride” that she co-wrote with Lynn A. Coleman. Her most popular series of novels include the Lambert, Nashvegas, Lowcountry, Songbird, Heart’s Bend, and Royal Wedding series of novels among several freestanding novels, novellas, and collections of short stories. She has been a two time finalist for the RITA award, while her title “The Wedding Dress” was the Romantic Times Book Club Inspirational Novel of the Year. Her Songbird series of novels was authored in collaboration with Sara Evans, the multi-platinum recording artist. Rachel went to Ohio University, where she graduated with a Journalism degree and proceeded to work in the corporate world. She quit the corporate world in 2004 to pursue a full time career in writing. A staunch Christian, she is an executive board member for the American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW), and leads worship at the organization’s yearly meets. She is also a conference speaker, and mentor for aspiring authors. She currently lives with her husband and their dogs in Florida, where she writes from the two-story balcony in between attending Buckeyes football games.
Rachel Hauck had always had a dream of becoming an author right from childhood, but work always got in the way of her dreams. As a child, she had always loved telling stories and created over 4000 diary entries detailing her life and pouring out her heart. Growing up the eldest of five siblings, she would play-act her stories with her siblings for years, which paved the way for her later career in writing. Her imagination and thinking would continue when she went to study Journalism at the University of Ohio, and later in her career. She chronicled her travels in her heart while traveling through Canada, Ireland, Mexico, Venezuela, Spain, Australia, and the US, but never got down to writing anything. In early 1993, she felt that God was telling her to quit her corporate job with all its benefits and great pay and go into a full time writing career. Taking her time to read and study the Christian fiction market, she got started on her first book, a World War II epic story with an Aleutian Islands setting. The book never made into publication although parts of it made it into her later title “Love Starts with Elle”. For Rachel Hauck, everything is a story right from helping others as a mentor and coach, leading worship, decades in youth ministry and her marriage, all of which form the tapestry in her works. She writes to try to make readers change the way they see happenings in their lives. She gets the inspiration and drive to write her novels from her realization that partnership with God is what results in realized dreams.
Rachel’s novels in the “Royal Wedding” series of novels deal with the grief of war, the pain of death and making the choice to love unconditionally despite that love not being returned. These are more than royal fairy tales given that even though they have the usual royal magic in them, they are narratives of healing and hope. However, the overall them of most of Hauck’s other novels are about God’s purpose, love, and destiny for his people. They move from the modern era of royal weddings right to the 1940s post-war era of men and women making family, living life, and just getting back to the basics. The novels analyze the complications of family life while asserting the healing and restorative power of love. The assertion is that even in the midst of destroyed dreams, and the tragedy of war, the human heart can find the zeal to carry on. Conversely, the novels also look into the destructive power of misconceptions, lies, greed, and selfishness that are just as effective in tearing down dreams and families. However, the author asserts that families can overcome the pitfalls of negativity by seeking prayer, listening, and loving each other. While it cites unreasonable expectations as the cause of many failed familial relationships, it asserts that Godly wisdom and prayer will eventually conquer all and lead to happy family life.
“Lambert’s Pride” the first novel of the New Hampshire Wedding series is one of the most popular of Rachel Hauck’s novels. The lead in the series is Elizabeth Lambert, a woman on the fast lane to success who suddenly gets knocked off her trajectory by Kavan Donovan, a young and dashing forest ranger. Her goal never involved falling in love with such a man, but it would seem that White Birch residents would want nothing more than the sizzling romance. Her family and friends have joined the bandwagon and are urging her to abandon dreams of going to college even as she struggles with her feelings for Kavan. Kavan is also very much captivated by the gorgeous Elizabeth, even as she is increasingly facing a lot of distractions at work. Could the Lord be telling her that maybe her ambitions have gotten the better of her? Might the Lord be saying that maybe marriage would be a better alternative to college? It is now up to Kavan to convince his love that the finest ambition of all is love. The narrative is an inspiring story of Christian romance that tells of the all-conquering power of love, in the context of Christian romance.
“Lambert’s Code” the second novel in the series is a heart-rending story of Julie Lambert. Julie has just learnt that she will never have children even after three years of therapy. As is to be expected, the news has left her alone, lost, and devastated. She makes several rash decisions, which put her marriage with Ethan in a very precarious position. Ethan Lambert loves Julie too much and would go to pieces if he were to lose Julie, though he cannot escape the fact that his marriage is on the rocks and he is clueless on how to stop the slide. Seeking the advice of his grandfather, he is set on the path to the Lambert family code, which is all about submitting to one another. Will Julie and Ethan overcome one of the most devastating destruction of dreams and rekindle their love? Will the Lambert Code resuscitate their dying magic? “Lambert’s Code” is a story full of inspiration and love that will thrill any Christina romance novel fan.

I’m loving the books by Rachel Hauck. I do not have Kindle so I’m only getting the hard covers or paperbacks when I find them. But I am very much enjoying them.
I just finished your book entitled The Love Letter. It was a great book. I hope I can get some more of your books to read. I love the Christian theme. I won’t read books with curse words and ungodly themes. Best of God’s blessings to you!
