Rachael Lippincott is an American published author of fiction.
Rachael was born in the city of Philadelphia. She grew up in Pennsylvania. She would further her education by going on to attend the University of Pittsburgh. As a student there, she studied English writing and graduated with her Bachelors degree.
Lippincott lives in the state of Pennsylvania to this day. She lives in Pittsburgh and spends her free time in interesting ways. When she is not busy writing, she works with her romantic partner helping to operate the food truck that they share together.
Rachael Lippincott first became a published author for the first time in 2018 with the release of her debut fictional novel. The novel has three authors sharing its composition credits. In addition to Rachael, the book was written by Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis. This is a romance novel that is intended for young adults, although anyone can read it!
The book rights were grabbed up and now the novel is being made into a movie. The full length film makes its debut in 2019. Directed by Justin Baldoni, it stars actor Cole Sprouse as well as actress Haley Lu Richardson in the story of two young adults that start to fall in love even though unique circumstances mean that they may have to make sacrifices beyond what most people would even consider for love.
Five Feet Apart is the debut novel to be released from Lippincott and two other authors. What is love, and what does it mean? Is it limited when we cannot give it the full due range of expression? Are you able to love another person, even if you know that you will never be able to touch them? If you are a fan of the young adult romance genre or love books like The Fault in Our Stars, this is a debut book well worth checking out for yourself.
In this story, readers get the chance to meet the main character of Stella Grant for the first time. She is a young woman that likes to control things and have them her own way. This may be a preference that she guards jealously because so much that goes on in her life and her body is simply out of her control and cannot be influenced.
Stella has a lot in common with other girls her age, but she also has a lot that isn’t shared with other girls that she knows. Most girls don’t have lungs that have gone totally haywire and now are out of control. The issues that she has been having with her lungs have meant that she has been a regular visitor to hospitals as a patient for the majority of her life.
Stella is finding that she needs control in her life, now more than ever. She also has a lot of fear. Her situation is delicate and her immune system is fragile. She needs to stay away from people or anything around that would have the ability to pass an infection along to her system. That would ruin everything because it would get in the way of the chance that she could receive a lung transplant and go through a surgery that could save her life.
The rule is that she needs to keep six feet away from everybody and everything and she has to follow it if she wants everything to work out. That is the only way she can keep her hope alive and get a lung. The last thing that she ever counted on was someone coming into her world that would make her question that even for a second.
Will Newman wishes that he could have control back desperately. The only thing in the world that he really wants is to leave the hospital and just get out of it. He doesn’t want to go through the treatments and he really doesn’t want to go through some clinical drug trial that has just come around.
Will knows that he is going to turn eighteen years old soon. He will soon be able to be an adult legally and can do what he wants to. That is when he’ll finally have the chance to get himself unplugged from all of these machines. He’ll get to see all of the world instead of all of the hospitals in the world.
He has no idea that he is exactly the type of distraction that someone like Stella cannot afford. She is trying to keep her eye on the prize, and the last thing that she needs coming into her life is a guy like Will. She knows that he’s part of the risk and she has to keep six feet away. This is one of the greatest moments of temptation that she will ever face and it could ruin her life forever if she gives into it.
Stella knows that even Will’s breathing on her could mean that she will end up having to give up a spot on the list for transplants. The two of them are both at incredible risk if they are ever to touch one another or come within the proximity of the other. Stella could lose her chance at an organ, and Will could die. Or she could.
The only shot that they have at continuing to survive is to choose to stay away from the other. But now the six feet rule no longer feels like a structure put in place to ensure safety. It’s starting to feel like the last thing that either of them wants.
The more that they have to maintain the barrier, the more aware the other is of how much distance there is between them. It increasingly starts to feel like a punishment to the two of them, an obstacle to their being together.
The more time they spend together, the more each of them is faced with a choice. Do they try to go for an experience that their lungs have made sure that they are destined to pay for? Or is breaching the distance a small price to pay for the desires of the heart? Pick up this book to find out.
