Poppy Creek Series

Writing from the heart, Rachael Bloome is an American author who has a lot to say, with an engaging and entertaining style of writing. Creating compelling characters that really resonate, she is a gifted novelist who has become a household name for quite some time now. Really setting the tone for a unique style of romantic novel, she has produced a number of funny and warm series that keep readers coming back for more. This is largely due to her idiosyncratic style of writing which really stands out from the rest, allowing her to say something entirely different. Taking the reader on a journey, she provides stories that are both honest and truthful, setting her apart from the rest in her field.

This is also the case for her many series, as she largely focuses on the romance genre, writing stories that are both familiar and homely. From this, she has gained a worldwide audience with readers from all over, as her work resonates in a manner quite unlike any other. Her ‘Poppy Creek’ series of novels is no different, as they manage to engage and enthral her readers in equal measure.

The Poppy creek books are centered around the small idyllic town of the same name, looking at the inhabitants that live there, and their love lives. With many of characters featuring in each of the books and crossing over, the town itself really comes to life off of the page for the reader. The books and stories themselves are entirely self-contained though, meaning these make great casual reads that are easy to pick up, yet difficult to put down.

The Clause in Christmas

Initially brought out in 2019 on the 29th of October, this would first come out through the ‘Secret Garden Press’ publishing label to much acclaim. Not only would it be the first in the ongoing series of ‘Poppy Creek’ novels, but it would also be the literary debut of Rachael Bloome as an author. Setting up the series and the world of Poppy Creek, it also contains its own self-contained romance story to start the franchise with.

This is a fun and warmly entertaining novel set around the time of Christmas, with an engaging romance at the heart of it. Introducing readers to the town of Poppy Creek for the first time too, it manages to really hit all the right notes when it comes to what a novel like this should be. Giving readers a lot of what they’ve come to expect from the romance genre, Bloome also has plenty of surprises of her own up her sleeve, making for plenty of interesting twists and turns along the way.

Not traditionally a huge fan of Christmas, Cassie Hayward has no job and no money, along with an ex she’d rather put behind her. That’s when she receives news of an old Victorian home in the idyllic small-town of Poppy Creek which she’s set to receive as an inheritance. The only stipulation is that she must complete a series of tasks each day throughout December in the run-up to Christmas, all overseen by her attractive lawyer, Luke Davis. Working together, it seems that the two of them are growing increasingly attracted to one another, and that’s when her ex returns with the proposal of a lifetime. Will she take it or will she stay? Can she complete the tasks and receive her inheritance? What exactly is the clause in Christmas?

The Truth in Tiramisu

First published in 2020 on the 6th of April, this would come out through the ‘Secret Garden Press’ publishing label once more. Setting up the second story in the ‘Poppy Creek Series’ of books, it carries on in a similar vein as before, while also providing some twists of its own. For readers who enjoyed the previous novel they’ll definitely enjoy this, while it also paves the way for the third title.

Taking place in Poppy Creek once again, this features another romance, with two characters residing in the small and idyllic town. With everything already set-up from before it gets straight into the story, although you won’t need to read the book before to follow what’s going on. Everything is also self-contained again too, making for a fun and entertaining romance, and it also provides the reader with a recipe as well.

Dealing with a secret that’s bursting to get out, Eliza Carter has a lot on her plate, as not only is her son struggling with school and her bakery is undergoing remodelling, but she’s also dealing with the wedding of her best friend. That’s when her old high-school sweetheart, Grant Parker, decides to turn up again, hoping to rekindle what they once had, now with a successful web-design business of his own. Setting about helping her with the running of her bakeries’ web-site, he hopes to help them, but the arrival of the secret could threaten to change everything. Just what is Eliza keeping from everyone? Can she get everything ready in time for the wedding? What is the truth in Tiramisu?

The Secret in Sandcastles

This would be the third book in the ongoing series of Poppy Creek stories, and it would also once again be a self-contained romance. Set in the same world as before this would first come out in 2020 on the 31st of August to much acclaim and anticipation. Taking place in Poppy Creek it features new characters once more, with plenty of strands and familiar people and places adding to the warmth of it.

Tasked with revamping the guidebooks to Poppy Creek, Penny Heart sets about undertaking a series of adventures in the local area. The only downside is that she’s been paired up with Colt Davis, a man who was her childhood enemy growing, as he was known for being a prankster. Initially reluctant at the idea of spending their time together, the two grow closer, and soon an attraction grows between them both. On top of that, Colt must deal keeping his father’s dying wish, all while coping with the passion he now feels for Penny. Will the two of them become an item? Is the long-kept secret going to overcome them both? What is the secret in sandcastles?

The Poppy Creek Series

There’s plenty of room to continue expanding upon this series indefinitely, as it has the potential to carry on growing. Showing a lot of promise with its fun and engaging world, many readers continue to discover the books every day. With more planned on the horizon, Rachael Bloome is definitely a writer to watch for fans of this series, and of the romance genre as a whole.
