Secret at Orient Point is an early fictional novel from Patricia Werner. Released in 1988, this is a quick read that you will absolutely be drawn into from the start!
Erika’s family history has always been touched by tragedy. It seemed to all start with the murder of her mother by her lover twenty years ago. The incident took place on Long Island’s North Fork, a place that is covered by mist.
The ramifications were instant and severe. Erika’s father had previously ran a hotel and since closed it, choosing to take to the seas to sail them and possibly escape the emotional impact of this event. Erika is taken to reside with an aunt.
Erika has returned once more to try and open the hotel to the public for business once more, and put the ghosts of the past behind for herself. She didn’t count on their being actual ghosts of some kind in the hotel to contend with, too.
Erika’s trying to put the ghosts to rest, but they just don’t seem to want to go along with it. A waltz comes back to them in broken tinkling sounds from the hotel ballroom, which is empty. She feels that something is watching her or stalking her late at night.
The worst part is the attraction between David and Erika. The draw is taboo because he is the son of the same man who killed Erika’s mother, and he’s also her half-brother. What will happen with this strange relationship and can Erika cleanse the hotel of the ghosts and put her family tragedy behind her? Read this unique novel from Patricia Werner to find out!
