Nancy Warren is a USA Today bestselling author of romance and mystery who pens novels for Kensington and Harlequin romances.

The author is originally from Vancouver, Canada but she loves to wander and at various times has lived in Califronia, Italy, and England. As for her education, she went to Bath Spa University where she got a creative writing master’s degree.
She published “Flashback” her debut novel in 2001 and has been publishing ever since. Warren has become one of the most prolific romance and cozy mystery fiction novelists and now has more than 100 works of fiction to her name.
The highlights of her life include three nominations for the RITA award by the Romance Writers of America, and getting on the front page of the New York Times when she launched the NASCAR series with her novel “Speed Dating.”
Nancy was also the answer to Canada’s “National Post Newspaper’s” crossword puzzle clue a few years ago.

When she is not writing, she loves hiking, chocolate, and hearing from her readers, particularly on “Nancy Warren Knitwits,” her private Facebook group.

Nancy was born and raised in British Columbia’s Vancouver.

For her undergraduate degree, she went to the University of British Columbia, where she got her English literature degree graduating with honors.

After graduation, she got employed as a journalist, and for about half a decade, she climbed the professional ladder in the world of journalism from answering phones to becoming a writer and ultimately editor.
The work taught her the need for clarity and brevity in writing, in addition to how to grab a reader’s attention when writing stories.

After working in writing and editing for years, she decided to change gears and move into public relations and corporate communications.

As a PR and communications professional, she worked for businesses and the government while running her own company.

When her husband was sent to Vancouver for work, she had to quit her job and leave behind friends, which made her very lonely.

Since she had always loved to read the likes of Mary Stewart, Georgette Heyer, and Jane Austen growing up, she began reading romance as an escape.

While Nancy Warren was reading her romances she stumbled upon Jennifer Blake and read everything she could find by her. She would then move on to Nora Roberts, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, and LaVyrle.
Back then, she loved reading sexy, fun, and fast reads from Harlequin Temptation line and began thinking that she could do what her favorite authors did.

Warren joined the Romance Writers of America where she met Jamie Sobrato, Karin Story Dearborn, Brenda Beagley, and Susan Lyons who are some of the best critique partners in the business.

Afterward, she began entering contests and submitting editors and it was not long before she was getting more personal rejection letters rather than the generic ones she had been getting before.
In 1999, she won the Short Contemporary category at the “Molly Contest” but her biggest break was when she won the “Summer Blaze Contest” by Harlequin in the year 2000.

A fortnight later, Harlequin contacted her with an offer to buy “Flashback,” which she had submitted several weeks earlier. Her debut novel was published under Harlequin Temptation in 2001.

Nancy Warren’s “The Vampire Knitting Club” introduces the lead, Lucy Swift.

She is at a crossroads between an uncertain future and a cringeworthy past and at the beginning of the novel, she is going to Oxford to visit her grandma.

But she can count on the undying love of her grandmother and her knitting shop Cardinal Woolsey’s to keep her busy while she figures out what she can do next.

However, she finds out that her grandmother is the undead and in her will, she left the knitting shop to her. The bizarre thing about the shop is that many people usually come and go as they please while never using the door
One of these is her grandmother who is the same old gran who loves knitting late into the night even though she is a ghost.

At some point, she learns that her grandmother did not die in her sleep but had been killed. She is determined to avenge her killer but does not want to inform law enforcement that her gran’s grave is empty.
Between a dishy detective inspector and a six-century-old vampire Lucy’s life soon becomes very complicated.

“Stitches and Witches” by Nancy Warren continues to follow the life and times of Lucy Swift.

Lucy and her troop of ghostly amateur detectives get on the case of an elderly gentleman who keeled over his tea and scones while at an Oxford tea shop. The shop was close to Lucy’s yarn shop which is also home to the Vampire Knitting Club.
The owners of the “Elderflower Tea Shop” are old family friends who are also two octogenarian spinsters. As such, Lucy is highly motivated to help get to the bottom of the mystery so that they can reopen their shop.

But murder is not the only thing they have to worry about as Miss Florence Watt one of the octogenarians is being romanced by an ex that Mary her partner does not trust.

In between trying to sort through the list of the many enemies that might have poisoned Colonel Montague, Lucy also has to brush up on her magic.

Ever since she blew up her kitchen after botching up a spell, she has been taking things slowly, which will not help move things along as fast as she needs to.
The fact that her knitting has also not been going so great makes her think that maybe she should just quit and return to Boston.

Nancy Warren’s novel “Crotchet and Cauldrons” is another fascinating work in the “Vampire Knitting Club” series of novels.

Every family comes with some annoying relatives but Lucy Swift’s are worse as they are undead. Agnes Bartlett her grandmother was once the owner of an Oxford knitting shop before she died and left it to her.
But she is not dead as she is part of a strange craft circle known as the “Vampire Knitting Club,” as she is a vampire.

This means that Gran is still around and interferes with the knitting business and also tries to teach how to become a good knitter and a witch.

She is learning albeit slowly, as she has got some powers that often scare her, her black cat familiar, her family spell book, and an interesting new group of friends.

For some reason, she keeps getting entangled in murder investigations but the good thing is that she finally employed the perfect assistant.
