At the beginning of the story of the book, it is depicted that a period of one year has passed since Cyrus Smith and Antigone earned the places of Journeymen in Ashtown, which is the home of all those explorers, who have guarded the treasures and secrets of the world for long. As the studies of these two go on, they realize that they are not liked very much because they lost Dragon’s Tooth to Dr. Phoenix. They learn that the Tooth is just the only thing in the whole world, which is capable of finishing the long lived transmortals. The notorious Dr. Phoenix has been making use of the Tooth for tracking down the transmortals and killing them one after the other. The remaining transmortals are led by the legendary Uruk warrior named Gilgamesh and arrive in Ashtown in full force. They demand justice and ask for a fair trial as well as putting Dr. Phoenix behind bars. Tig and Cy move as fast as they could in the desperate search and locating of Dr. Phoenix and recovering the Tooth from him. While doing so, the two come across a more dangerous evil than Dr. Phoenix. It appears that this evil has been waiting patiently for centuries to come out and cause havoc. Now, the Smiths have to deal with two evils instead of one.
