Doing what he thinks to be just might come at a cost though he could be ready to lose everything, even his family, to save his country Russia.
The Persian Gamble is the second in the Marcus Ryker series. It’s a thriller story that tracks a terrifying nuclear alliance among three world powers, Iran, Russia, and North Korea, and the fatal mission that former U.S. Secret Service Agent Marcus Ryker should risk to disrupt their strategy.
Shot out of the air in enemy territory in the center of the greatest international crisis since the end of the Cold War, former U.S. Secret Service agent Marcus finds himself an impossible task. He does not only have to elude detection and capture by Russian special forces, but he must also convince his government to grant safe harbor to the man responsible for the worldwide mayhem. The man is the Russian double agent and assassin Oleg Kraskin.
While negotiating with his contacts in the white house, Marcus finds that the unstable North Korean is planning on using the international chaos as a front to sell nuclear weapons to Iran. With the entire world’s fate at stake, Marcus has to make a deal with the Us government. He will have to go back to work as an international operative and hunt down the WMDs before they get into the hands of those with the means to use them.
Marcus and Oleg once worked together to avert a world war, but can they find a way to prevent the world from being destroyed this time? As Ryker fights to help out in all the ways he can, he remembers his close Christian ties and struggles with the increasing violence that will soon occur to end all the political instability.
It would appear that the Russians have made a secret military alliance with the North Koreans that might help both sides in any event of aggression from any other part of the world.
As he tries justifying it, Ryker gets sent to Japan for another mission. The mission is to scout out the North Korean warheads transported to their Iranian allies. As bodies pile up everywhere, Ryker witnesses’ friends and enemies die which tests his beliefs compelling him to wonder about his role in the whole situation.
