Here is what I read in February:

Life Sentence by David Ellis:I listened to this one. The narration was excellent. Dick Hill was phenomenal, particularly during a specific courtroom scene near the end.

But oh boy did this book have a silly twist that just brought it down quite a few notches. Enjoyable book, but didn’t like the twist that ended it.

First Lie Wins by Ashley Elston: A standalone thriller and this was EXCEPTIONAL. The writing, the characters, the twists, the mysteries. I can’t say enough good things about it. If you like psychological thrillers, read this book.

Want To Know A Secret by Freida McFadden: And at the other end of the spectrum, we have this atrocity.

Look – I love Freida McFadden. I’ve enjoyed almost all of her books. But this one? Easily her worst ever, and one of the worst books ever. Which is a pity, because it was actually a really good book up until the 60% mark.

Then you get there and the realize the narrator has been lying straight to your face the entire time. It was a complete and utter joke. “Hmmm I wonder if the old lady next door really did fall down? Maybe the lady who moved in after her pushed her down the stairs to kill her and get the house”. Then nope we found out it was actually the narrator who killed her.

I felt cheated after reading this one and that’s not a nice feeling.

The Policy by Bentley Little: Usual great Bentley Little novel. This one is about insurance companies. Just such an exceptional writer.

Moneyball by Michael Lewis: I’ve seen the movies many times, but never read the book. I enjoyed this one, but it’s one of those books that while I enjoyed, I was sad that I’m not a big baseball fan – especially during that period as it would have been my freaking bible.

Anyway a solid reading month for the most part.

I love Grisham, king, and coben, is there any really good, truly, psychological thrillers that really get you excited and informed? I have a really hard time finding any and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I love the blog too 😍!

“Informed” is a tricky one. I can’t think of any thrillers where I’ve really felt that lately. But in terms of psychological thrillers in general, my favourite authors include Shari Lapena, B.A. Paris and Freida McFadden
