Providing another stand-alone mystery, the series itself has plenty of ongoing character arcs, so it’s best to read in order to get the most out of it. Also published through the ‘Backinprint’ imprint, it was a well-received novel, capturing the tone of the previous two titles.

That’s when a murder takes place, and it appears that someone may want to keep skeletons in the closet, and now it seems that there’s more to this case than meets the eye. Looking to sell a set of of medieval artefacts to the museum, the younger wife of the late Arthur Coburg has just brought them to light, while Mark is helping with the renovation of an old Victorian house. What secrets does this particular household, can they find the truth behind the murder, and where will their journey take them in the garden of thorns?

The Avalon Chanter

The series itself is ongoing, although there are characters from the ‘Ashes to Ashes’ series featuring intermittently throughout. Published through the ‘Five Star’ publishing outlet, it’s another stand-alone mystery, with many of the arcs continuing from previous novels.
Looking to prove that Farnaby Island is the Avalon of Arthurian legend, Maggie Lauder is an archaeologist with a mission. Opening a tomb located in a medieval chantry chapel upheaves everything though, sending her plans awry, and the story Jean Fairbairn was looking to write is shrouded by a new investigation. Stranded on Farnaby Island together, Jean and Alasdair Cameron can only trust each other, while also caught in the conflicting loyalties of the islanders. Will they be able to find the truth behind what was uncovered, can they solve the mystery, and what will become of the Avalon Chanter?
