LM Lacee is a paranormal romance author from New Zealand that is best known for the “Dragon’s Gap” series of novels. The Auckland, New Zealand-bred author has lived for several years in Australia and America.

She has always loved reading romantic fantasy ever since she was in her teens. In more recent times, she had been an avid reader of romance and science fiction classics. She has asserted that her book writing and reading are inspired by her passion for inventing epic and new fantasy stories with new settings and strong and unique characters. Lacee has asserted that her interest in people and their interactions have been motivated by her experiences living in big cities such as Santa Barbara, Sydney, and Los Angeles.

Her debut novel “Reighn & Sage” that spawned the “Dragon’s Gap” series of novels was published in 2018. The bestselling novel was the 2018 winner of the Best Indie Book of the Year. After traveling and living all over the world, she went back to New Zealand and currently lives in North Leonie where she does not have to complain about winter. It was while she was back home that she decided to give writing a try and started writing the “Dragon’s Gap” series. When she is not traveling overseas or writing her novels, she may be found reading, fishing the Kaipara, knitting, showing her Rottweilers, and sometimes cooking for her husband.

As a child, LM Lacee remembers being told that a picture painted a thousand words. However, since she cannot paint to save her life she turned it around as she made her thousand words into a picture. Growing up, she loved fairy tales, especially anything that had talking animals. As such, when she moved back to New Zealand she thought she should write a fantasy novel along the same lines. She invented the magical world of Dragon’s Gap with its diverse and entertaining characters. It became her own personal oil and canvas that kept her entertained and fulfilled. While she at first began writing as a hobby one novel turned into a series and she kept on writing.

Lacee currently has more than fifteen novels in the “Dragon’s Gap,” “Daughter Of Ethos,” and the “Pride of Lion Edge” series of novels. Once she started, she had so much fun and her head was full of characters and situations that she just could not stop. Her novels are known for their adventure and thrill and abundance of lovable characters and a sprinkling of just the right number of villains.

“Reighn & Sage’s Story” by LM Lacee introduces a fire dragon named Lord Reighn, the strongest and most feared dragon and also the leader of a dying race. For a millennium, he had been waiting for his shadow and then one day out of nowhere, he found that he had his long-awaited mate alongside two daughters. It was an improbability that was firmly in the realm of the impossible as Sage who is half wolf and half-witch now has a new family in Dragon’s Gap. But then he is awakened one early morning and informed that his daughter had been taken. But one thing the kidnappers did not know is how vicious a wolf or witch can be when you take their child. When she went out to find her daughter she never expected that she would meet the Dragon Lord Reighn that would become her mate. He takes her as his shadow, signaling a great change in Dragon’s Gap. No longer will dragons be in danger of extinction as shifters will save them whenever they find their shadows. Unexpectedly, the reappearance of the elementals means that magical beings and magic are going to be part of the conversation on Earth once again. Reighn vows to protect the Elementals from the world that wishes to subjugate and corrupt them and the Earth.

“Sharm and Edith’s Story” by LM Lacee opens with Edith Black, a full bear that believes she is human. She had for years been unable to communicate with her other half or shift. After spending two months at Dragon’s Gap, everything changes and her bear is talking to her. The bear seems to be very opinionated about almost everything but particularly about Edith’s life. Edith has discovered that her bear decided that she did not need the ability to shift and instead doubled up on other gifts. One of these was the talent to tell the birth date, age, and species of any child or person. This is a precious gift in Dragon’s Gap as so many children and young adults do not know what or who they are. One morning, she is dragged to the castle by her bear and meets Verity Kingsley the mother of the Dragon Lord who becomes a friend. Soon after, Edith is in trouble when she learns that the master healer Sharm who is Verity’s son is her mate. Things get even more interesting when she discovers that the daughter of Sage and the Dragon Lord Reighm has made friends with Sela, a faerie who is not all that she seems. Sela might have nefarious intentions towards Molly and it may be up to Edith to stop her.

LM Lacee’s “Storm and Charlie’s Story” is an inspirational tale fantasy romance of dealers in war. Charlie Easton and Storm her dragon shadow have to embrace their softer natures if they are to take care of their children as parents. They had rescued five frightened and lost children and Charlie has to rise to the occasion even though she had never pictured herself as a mother. She had been trained as a killer and that is all that she had known for so long. With an important mission to accomplish, she resorted to what had been told at training school – always have a contingency plan. She planned to leave the children in Dragon’s Gap and then high tail out of town but then she found that she could not do it. Her teacher had not prepared her for such contingencies and now she does not know what to do. In the meantime Storm’s dragon had been bemoaning the fact they were yet to be bonded. He is not about to take any blame for his shadow’s lateness in coming to Dragon’s Gap. But he gets the surprise of his life when his shadow comes into town with children. Finding out that his shadow was a beautiful, sharpshooting marksman with three children and with the ability to fly and shift into dragon form can be a surprise to almost anyone.

Please add more Dragon’s Gap books with the children’s stories. Kelsey,Molly, Paige etc. A Christmas story every year would also be nice!! Keep up the good work.

I love these books, I wish they would never end. I am dreading the end of the series. I’m now on Coner and Ocean. I have read them straight through. The “family “ aspect is what I love the most. Loving, interesting, funny, kind and sweet.
    Thank you
