Krista Ritchie and Becca Ritchie
Krista and Becca Ritchie are identical twins and authors of New Adult & Contemporary Romance Novels. They’ve combined their passion for writing to create compelling stories that are addictive and well-thought-out. The duo ranks among New York Times and USA Today bestsellers, and their obsession with soul mate love and deeply flawed characters is evident in their Addicted and Calloway Sisters series, among other book series.
Addicted to You
Addicted to You is the first book in the Addicted series. We are introduced to Lily Calloway, a shy young girl with an embarrassing secret, and her childhood friend Loren Hale, a wealthy lad with a deep affinity for alcohol. Lily is a sex addict, thanks to her compulsions, she engages in steamy hook-ups and one-stands that only leave her with regrets. The only person who knows about Lily’s secret is Loren, the man Lily has been pretending to be in a relationship with for the past three years.
Both Li and Lo know that their wealthy controlling families would kick them to the curb if they discovered their secrets, so they choose to lie. They cover for each other, and to the world, they are a picture-perfect couple. While Lily and Loren tell each other that theirs is nothing but a pretend relationship, it is evident that the two have deep feelings for each other.
Lily and Loren’s addictions spin out of control as their destructive relationship grows. Over time, they wonder whether a life together would be better than the lie they have been living for years — things to change when the two are forced into a yacht trip with their families. There is no way that Lily will hook up with other guys without the parents noticing, and Loren cannot feed his addiction either.
Family and strangers are suspicious about their relationship, and as the couple works to overcome these challenges, they realize that they are also addicted to each other. The journey to recovery starts when Lily and Loren’s purpose of helping each other overcome their flaws. While it is easy to tell that the couple will encounter more challenges if they choose to stay together, it is adorable that they’re dedicated to helping each other.
While the two main characters are flawed and damaged, it is hard not to love them. Loren is the perfect friend every girl wishes to have. He is caring, patient, and best of all, he has Lily’s back. Lily is also sweet, and while she enables Loren’s behavior, she comes off as a caring friend. The two are oddly perfect for each other. This story is told from Lily’s point of view, but still, the author can portray this girl’s self-destructive cycle and the motions of her addiction.
Want to read a romance novel that will take you on an emotional roller-coaster, the Addicted to You book is an ideal choice. The storyline is unique since the hero and heroine all have deep-rooted issues, but in the end, love seems to be winning. The pace is perfect, the cast is impressive, and way the story is told can only mean that you will have a hard time putting down this book.
Kiss the Sky
Kiss the Sky is the first book in the Calloway Sisters series. The book features Rose Calloway, a 23-year old who thinks that she has her life figured out. Rose is a Princeton graduate, an accomplished fashion designer, and her father is a Fortune 500 mogul. She is dating her intellectual counterpart Connor Cobalt. From the outside, she is the epitome of success. The only thing not going right for Rose is her sister, a sex addict.
While Rose is the perfect elder sister to Daisy and Lily, her sister’s sex addiction has affected her in more ways than one. Her clothesline was affected by her sister’s expose, just like her father’s business suffered. Rose knows that little can be done to change the past, but the future still had a lot to offer to her family. This smart young lady figures that she has to do something drastic to save her family’s reputation and her business.
Rose accepts to have her life filmed in a reality show. Rose and 5 of her friends Lily, Lo, Ryke, Daisy, and Connor will be staying together for six months. During this period, three cameramen will follow them everywhere day and night to document their lives, and their personal lives will be shared with the world. Rose sees this as a perfect opportunity to revive her dying fashion line. Things get confusing when one of the producers takes a liking for Rose. The producer wants so bad to sleep with her.
Connor takes quick action to protect his girlfriend. The show is all about pushing boundaries. Still, Connor is not going to sit and watch as the show producer takes what he has been patiently waiting for years. No one knows that despite having a boyfriend, Rose is still a virgin. Connor is determined to find ways to protect Rose and ensure that no one but him will take Rose’s virginity.
While Kiss the Sky documents the lives of the six friends and their entwined relationships, the focus is on Rose and Connor. The duo is older and more mature than the rest. Their traits make these two an odd couple, but the more you read about them, it becomes clear that they are perfect for each other. They are smart, and even though they are also flawed and highly competitive, they complement each other.
This story is beautiful, so every drama or reaction makes perfect sense. The story draws you in, and it is hard not to get excited as you get to know each of the characters better. It’s fast-paced and the romance will have you fanning yourself for hours on end. The Kiss the Sky book can be enjoyed as a standalone even though the story is a continuation of the addicted series.
