Kris Bock has lived in ten states and one foreign country, but she has been in New Mexico for over 20 years and considers it home. The southwestern landscapes inspire many of her stories. She lives with her husband, who works for the Bureau of Geology, and their ferrets. She enjoys hiking, archery, hanging out with friends, reading, and good food.

Kris started writing romantic suspense for adults after years of writing for children under the name Chris Eboch. She published six romantic suspense novels set in the southwest, three standalones and a linked trilogy featuring archaeology and treasure hunting that starts with Desert Gold. From there she moved to writing romance and mystery novels.

The Furrever Friends series launched in 2019 with the novel Coffee and Crushes at the Cat Café. Readers call this sweet, cozy romance series set around a cat cafe “heartwarming.” The most recently released novel in the series was Pride and Prejudice at The Cat Café (2024). Kris also wrote the Accidental Billionaire Cowboys series, which has 5 books, starting with The Billionaire Cowboy’s Christmas. The series follows a ranching family in Texas as they win the lottery and discover how sudden riches change their lives for good and bad. While Kris finds it hard to sympathize with billionaires, she wanted to explore the question, “What would you do if you had enough money to do anything?” Four brothers star as the heroes in the first four books, while their widowed mother finds love again in book 5.

Kris’s mysteries have been called fast-paced, twisty, and funny. The Accidental Detective humorous mystery series stars Kate, a witty journalist about to turn 50, who moves back home to Arizona after an injury. She solves mysteries with the help of eccentric sidekicks of all ages, including her sister, her father, his senior friends, and two young computer geeks. The first book, Something Shady at Sunshine Haven, was chosen for Barnes & Noble’s list of “Handpicked Favorites You’ll Love!” The six books in the series are available in print and ebook, while the first three are also in audiobook.

Kris’s newest series is the Reluctant Psychic Mysteries, with book 1, A Stone Cold Murder, launching April 28, 2025. This series stars Petra, an introvert who hides her psychic skills as she starts a new job curating the rocks and minerals exhibits at a peculiar small town museum in New Mexico. But when she finds a rock that may have been used as a murder weapon, she worries that her predecessor might not have died of natural causes after all. Three books are under contract as of spring 2025. During the series, Petra explores her psychic powers and builds a found family.
