Killer instincts is a series of books written by Canadian Author Elle Kennedy. Killer instincts features a world of unforgiving mercenaries and assassins. This rigorous book series features dark romance, extraordinary men, deadly women, witty dialogue and the intriguing suspense.

Killer instinct book series consists of eight books each featuring the romance and suspense characteristic of Elle Kennedy’s way of writing even though each of the books provides unique and amazing insights into the lives of the characters and offers a whole different experience.

The eight books of the killer instinct series often carry the primary themes revolving around romance, danger, suspense, deadly mercenaries and soulless assassins. The individual book as I have dealt with below are all unique in their own ways and each deserves their special attentions as they carry interesting perspective and plots worth not overlooking.

The books in the Killer Instinct series are Midnight Rescue, Midnight Alias, Midnight Games, Midnight Pursuits, After Midnight, Midnight Action, Midnight Captive and Midnight Revenge.

Midnight Rescue

The first book of the killer instinct book series published in May 1st 2012. In Midnight Rescue, Abby Sinclair who grew up in a dire childhood and was rescued and adopted by a retired army general was made to be a captain of self-defense. She later ends up becoming a fearless and sly assassin who moves from one risky mission to the other using everything she got be it sex, strength, nerve and resilience to come out on top. She lives by only one rule; not to trust anyone. Abby’s latest mission is in Columbia, to go undercover and bust a dangerous arms dealer active in the underground sex trade. Abby certainly blows her cover in her last attempt to save the helpless victims and Kane Woodland, a deadly mercenary is recruited to save Abby from that damned place. Kane tries not to show any feeling for Abby but she goes ahead to convince him otherwise which may risk their all lives and the lives of their whole team.

Midnight Alias

Midnight Alias is the second book in the Killer Instinct series published in February 5th 2013. In the wake of a missing DEA agent, the government recruits Luke Dubois and his elite team of operatives to help get back the man. Luke Dubois, a native New Orleans man is confronted with the dilemma of getting past the defenses of Olivia Taylor, the girlfriend of the mob boss and the sexiest woman he has ever seen and to convince her to take a chance on him without losing track. All that Olivia ever wanted was to finish law school and lead a normal life but that dream became elusive when she became deeply indebted to the mobsters on one dangerous night. It now upon Luke and his team to help her escape and in exchange Olivia gives them information about the missing agent.

Midnight Games

The third book in Elle Kennedy’s Killer Instincts series published in August 6th 2013. Midnight Games features Isabel Roma who disguises herself as other women. Under normal circumstances, she is always in control of her emotions but Trevor Callaghan, a sexy mercenary is bent towards getting under her skin. Trevor affects her in ways she has never felt before, this beguilement can become detrimental and is dangerous to their line of work. Trevor moves on from his not so impressive past and starts to focus on his future with Isabel being part of it. Their operations are thrown into chaos and Trevor enlist Isabel’s talent for deception. They try to save their team in the world of chaos and Trevor convinces Isabel that the woman beneath all the disguises, the real woman is worth having.

Midnight Pursuits

Published in April 1st 2014, Midnight Pursuits is the fourth book in the killer instinct series. In Midnight Pursuits, Ethan Hayes nicknamed rookie, a soldier for hire and the youngest member of an elite mercenary team has brilliant skills he acquired as a marine which makes him very dangerous. During difficult times, he realizes that more than just his skills might be needed for him to triumph. In a secret group of assassins and spies, Juliet Mason stands out as the master thief. Her latest mission which is kind of personal goes wrong and rookie comes to her aid in the snowy Eastern Europe. They make a good team and fighting the passions between them seems more challenging than even a powerful enemy.

After Midnight

Published in October 7th 2014, After Midnight offers more insight into the lives of Abby Sinclair and Kane Woodland from the first book, Midnight Rescue. Abby Sinclair, now a mercenary was one of the deadliest assassins in the world. Abby and Kane are taking assignments that risks their own mortality. The secrets between them too as they pile up hence they begin to go different ways until a certain turn of events in their missions makes them to come back together.

Midnight Action

The fifth book in the killer instinct series published in November 4th 2014, Midnight Action features Jim Morgan a former army ranger who leads a team of elite mercenaries, and while in Paris 18 years ago as part of black ops unit whose mission was to hunt down a rogue operative; seduce Noelle, costing him the love of his life and making him Noelle’s number one enemy. Noelle now runs a group of top notch assassins and has been given the task of eliminating Jim Morgan. Going by their history, they can’t trust each other but they need each other in order to deal with a common enemy that they face. They have to confront their past if they want to have a future.

Midnight Captive

Ever since they had a moment together, Bailey Jones, a former CIA agent and Sean Reilly, a skilled mercenary. Bailey Jones can’t get over Sean Reilly ever after attempts to do so. Sean is implicated in the robbery of Dublin Bank and Bailey since she seems not to trust him is caught at crossroads on what to do.

Midnight Revenge

The last book in the Killer instinct series to be published by February 2nd 2016, Derek “D” Pratt is the most intimidating of all the stone-cold mercenaries in Jim Morgan’s black ops organization is tight-lipped and covered in tattoos. The other guys on his team are afraid to ask him about his past. D’s been on the run for years, but after his teammate Sullivan is mistakenly captured in his place, D is forced to face his demons. He lands in Mexico, ready to risk everything to save his friend. To complicate matters, Sofia Amaro with whom D had a one-night stand with months ago, has tracked him down. D is faced with a difficulty of rescuing two people one his child from violence.

The Killer instinct books series are action filled, full of surprises, suspense, romance among other awesome stuff which makes them difficult to put down once one has laid a finger on them.
