Early and Personal Life

Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in the United States, Karen McQuestion would grow up with a strong passion for both reading and writing. Invested in literature from an early age, she would constantly be found with her head in a book, while refining her own voice as an author. In time this would lead to her becoming a highly successful author in her own right, making a name for herself.

Taking in inspiration from the world around her, she would always be on the lookout for the next big idea to help inspire her. Currently living in Hartland, Wisconsin, she continues to write to this very day, and still has far more to come.

Writing Career

The first book that McQuestion would publish was titled ‘Celia and the Fairies,’ and it was brought out back in 2009. This would be a self-contained stand-alone story aimed at children, and it would be a fantasy genre novel. Later she would go on to produce her ‘Edgewood’ series of books, which would start with the title of the same name in 2012, and these would be science fiction novels for younger readers.

Her second novel published in 2010, titled ‘A Scattered Life,’ would optioned for film by a Los Angeles production company, making it one of the first self-published books to have this happen. Writing mystery novels as well, McQuestion is a respected author with a diverse back catalogue of work to her name. She will carry on writing, as both the critics and the general public carry on appreciating her, giving her acclaim.

The Moonlight Child

Initially published through the ‘Nightsky Press’ publishing label, this would first come out in 2020 on the 10th of September. It would be a stand-alone mystery novel with a self-contained story, and there would elements of fantasy lingering over it. The characters themselves are grounded though, and it bases itself in reality, keeping its audience completely invested every step of the way.

As a mystery the story is extremely tightly plotted, and there’s plenty of intrigue throughout to keep the reader hooked. That’s when the eighteen-year-old former foster child Nikki comes to live with her, and they both see the child again, leading to them investigating themselves after the social-services fail to help. Can they find out what’s really going on though? Who is the mystery girl and where did she come from? What is the secret of the moonlight child?

Revelation

This would be the fourth title in the ongoing ‘Edgewood’ series of novels, and it would originally come out in 2016 on the 8th of December. Following on from the previous three books, this is the final instalment in the franchise, as it brings everything together for the characters. Working as a science-fiction series of novels, it manages to capture the imagination of the young readers, and keep them entertained throughout.

Developing the friendships throughout, this story, and series, end on an overall high-note, making it a must for any fans of the genre. The series really works as a complete set, and this book definitely exemplifies that, drawing all the loose ends successfully to a close. With its many thought provoking ideas and intelligently written characters, it never talks down to its younger readers either.

Joining the Associates, the Edgewood teens hope to infiltrate the organization from within, exposing the vulnerabilities of their institution. In order to prove their loyalties, they must complete a challenge, and it’s one that hasn’t been completed in many centuries. With the stakes at an all time high, they must work together and act quickly if they want to have a hope of achieving their goal. Can they overcome the many obstacles placed in the path?
