Jessica Knoll is one of the New York Times Bestselling and successful authors of America, who has written a few highly popular novels in her writing career. Other than being an author, she has also worked as a senior editor at the Cosmopolitan and as the editor of articles at the SELF. Jessica spent her growing years in the suburbs of Philadelphia. She completed her school studies from The Shipley School situated in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Later, she went on to enroll herself at the William Smith and Hobart Colleges located in Geneva, New York, from where Jessica earned her graduate degree. As of today, she is happily married and lives along with her husband in New York City. Author Jessica had come to New York City in order to become an established author, but she was not having any plans as to how to approach her dream. Initially, she took up a few assistant jobs as well as unfruitful internships, and soon became unemployed after a short stint. In fact, she had lost hope so much that she had decided to pack her things and leave New York City, thereby abandoning her dreams of becoming a successful author. However, before doing that she tried her hand at doing one more assistant job, joining the Cosmopolitan magazine. This job proved to be fruitful for her and remained for a longer period of time.
After working for a few years, Jessica reached the peak of her career at the magazine and then decided to quit it in order to become a novelist. This time, her plan was to publish her novel, Luckiest Girl Alive, which she was writing from a very long time. After its release, the novel became a huge hit and went on to become a New York Times best seller. It stayed on the list for a period of 7 weeks. Author Jessica is also in talks with producer Reese Witherspoon, who has shown a keen interest in adapting the novel into a movie. In fact, Reese has already hired Jessica to write the screenplay of the movie, which is expected to go floor very soon. Jessica says that she has taken a number of deliberate steps in her short and struggling writing career as well as in her life to reach the position on which she currently is. She has always wanted to be a writer right from her childhood days.
It had become her passion as she felt quite positive about telling a good story. However, she was not in touch with anyone who was an adult professional writer at that time, which was a lacking factor in her ambition to become an author. When she was studying in her college, she was excited about attending a screenwriting class taught by one of the professors of the college. This was the first time that author Jessica felt really positive about becoming a screenwriter. Being a sincere student in the class, she got closer to the professor and eventually became a good friend of his daughter, who was an actress by profession. She was also represented by a literary and talent agency named Paradigm Agency. The professor and his daughter helped Jessica to get into an internship program at the agency and as a result, she had to move to Los Angeles during the summer season between her junior and senior years of her college. After returning back from L.A., author Jessica was determined to become a screenwriter, even though she had no idea what it really meant to be a screenwriter.
As an intern, Jessica was required to do a lot of script coverage, due to which she had to write a book report on almost every script that she came across. After graduating from her college, Jessica took the advice of her screenwriting professor and took a job at the Paradigm Agency as an assistant. She happily says that she owes all her life to this job because it allowed her to meet her husband, her best friend, and her literary agent there. After working there for about 8 months, Jessica decided to quit from her job at the Paradigm Agency in order to explore her growing interest towards writing novels. But the days of struggles had disheartened her. So she began searching for jobs again. Eventually, she ended up in front of the editor of the Cosmopolitan magazine, who offered her a job as an assistant as she had 2 years’ experience working as the same. Jessica took the quickly as she was in desperate need of it. The further events in her life helped her to write the successful novel that allowed her to become a New York Times Bestselling author and get recognized as an established author.
