Jeremy Robinson was born October 22, 1974, in Beverly Massachusetts, located on the Atlantic coast, in the northeast corner of the United States. A small semi-rural community Robinson grew up doing what most “Mayberry Kids” did in the early 1970’s. He explored the coast and the forests in his hometown area, and buried himself in almost every comic book he could get his hands on that had anything to do with superheroes, space, and creatures that lurked within. Some of his favorite comics were, Godzilla, Dr. Who, and anything to do with Star Wars, Batman, and Superman.

Along with his father’s work to interest Robinson in Science Fiction, possibly because of the missile silos and secrecy in the area during the time, and his deep interest in comics, his future path to becoming a writer was set.

Jeremy Robinson put pen to paper in his early 20’s as an illustrator for comic books and he also worked on some small independent projects. He soon realized that there was more than just drawing characters, there were stories that he could tell, and that was the turning point in his career.

Writing screenplays lead to his first attempts at writing novels and today his count stands at more than 50 novels penned and out the door.

Today, Jeremy Robinson lives like the guy-next-door, more comfortable in his jeans and a T-shirt, and eager to help to promote writing as a career. With his wife and three children, he still is apt to put on his boots and take his children to walk the woods of New Hampshire where he lives and works.

Robinson’s full-time “hobby” is his writing and below, we discuss his writing.

Jeremy Robinson’s Writing

Jeremy Robinson has been writing in 2003, and in a relatively short span of 11 years, he has penned approximately 61 stand-alone novels, short stories, and series. A prolific writer by anyone’s count, with an average of more than five per year, Robinson writes under his own name as well as a four pseudonyms, two of the better known being Jeremy Bishop, Jeremiah Knight.

Robinson’s writing covers science fiction and adventure titles. There is the Nemesis Series, the Chess Team Adventure of nine books, the Antarktos Saga, nine books written as Jeremy Bishop, three books written under his other pen names, nine short stories, and ten books written as stand alone novels.

There are many characters of note, with Jack Sigler of the Chess Team Adventure that was first published in 2009, as possibly the most prominent.

Jack Sigler and the Chess Team Adventure

Jack Sigler is the main character in the Chess Team Adventures of nine books. Sigler is a Delta member of the Special Forces of the United States. He is the hardened leader of the “Chess Team.” The Chess Team is a group of like operatives, with code names such as Knight, Bishop, Rook and Deep Blue, who has the unbounded challenge to keep the Chess Team on the straight and narrow, following the laws of the land and getting away when required.

The Chess Team was formed by secret order of the President of the United States. Their job is to tackle any threat to the sovereignty and safety of the United States, no matter if it is real or imagined, or takes place in modern or ancient times, with characters that could be real, or imagined.

Under the leadership of Jack Sigler, the Chess Team travels the brink to the abyss, using any weapon imaginable to fight evil with good. They always prevail in a hail of heart-stopping action and it is interesting how closely the characters and the time frames coincide with the mind and imagination that Jeremy Robinson would have had as a young boy growing up in Beverly Massachusetts.

In his youth, Robinson was exposed to the world of fantasy through his voracious reading of comic books, as well, there was a significant army presence in the area due to the missile silos’ located near the city’s airport.

The Didymus Contingency

One of the earliest books written and published by Jeremy Robinson was The Didymus Contingency. The book came out in 2005 and was re-released in 2011.

The story line is based upon time travel to satisfy a spiritual quest. The main character is a missionary, whose wife was killed for not turning her back on her faith. He and another missionary invent time travel and head back to the time of Christ. There, they take part in some important descriptions of the Gospels, and Christ and some of his Disciples are portrayed as real, and not fictional characters, raising the writing to a level of intertwining reality with fantasy.

There is good quality suspense in the book, with some interesting crossing of plots that come to a conclusion about traveling in time that was not expected.

As a first novel, The Didymus Contingency rates high on the list of sure reads and possibly after more than ten years, we may see another to start with a new series.

Close the Book

Jeremy Robinson, born into a solid family in 1974, enjoyed life in semi-rural America, being exposed to science fiction, the army in the area, and the world of comic books at a very early age. Having written more than 50 books, one can easily see how his early life has intertwined with the experiences taught to him by his father, to where he has become a prolific writer and holding the lofty position as the Number 1 Science Fiction Writer on Amazon.com.

Robinson continues to write from is home in New Hampshire, and fortunate for all of us who enjoy his writing, there will be more to come from this gentleman.

Hi Joan, I was thinking the same thing about bishop but if you read the Cerberus book you will find out what happens to him.

Any idea when the next installment of the Jack Sigler noverls will be out? We’ve been left hanging for several years now, about the fate of Deep Blue, not to mention whatever happened to the original Bishop, Erik Somers. Please tell us that something is coming soon? Thanks for any response.
