Jack Campbell is the pseudonym used by one of the well known American authors named John G. Hemry, for writing his novels based on the military science fiction genre. As author Campbell is a retired US Navy officer, he has a vast experience that he often shares in his novels in the form of fiction stories. The most popular novel series written by him under the pseudonym are the Lost Fleet series and its spin-off series titled as The Lost Stars. Author Campbell was born in April 1956. He first started his naval service aboard a US warship and then retired to become a full time writer. It was in the year 2000 that he was able to publish the debut novel of his writing career. Then from the year 2006 onwards, author Campbell began writing the Lost Fleet series as well as its spin-off series.
As of today, he is working on the development of the plots of the latest novels of The Lost Stars series. This series consists of a total of 4 books published between the years 2012 and 2016. Author Campbell has said in an interview before the publication of the first novel of this series that is going to be a part of the original Lost Fleet universe and will also feature the main characters which were in the original series. In the initial novels of this series, it is shown that The Lost Stars, which were previously known as The Phoenix Stars, work towards collapsing the Syndicate Worlds. This is specifically done by the dedicated efforts of the CEO commanders of the Midway System and the ground force. They are also required to take care of the aftermath of the collapse. The novels in this series show the expansion of the original series, in which author Campbell has shown the viewpoints of the citizens of the Syndicate Worlds. The novels also show the ways in which the Midway System leaders react after the collapse of their central authority. The time period in which the novels of this series are set is depicted to be same as the original series.
The first novel of The Lost Stars series written by author Jack Campbell was published under the title ‘Tarnished Knight’. It was released by the Ace Hardcover publishing house in the year 2012. The plot of this novel revolves around the happenings in the lives of the main characters named Artur Drakon and Gwen Iceni. In the opening sequence of the plot of the novel, it is shown that the government’s authority in the Syndicate World is crumbling. A disorder seems to have spread in the star systems because of the rebellion and civil wars, and the Syndicate government is trying to suppress all the disorder with brutal attempts. One of the stars in the Syndicate World is called as Midway, where the leaders seem to be in two minds in the decision between remaining loyal towards the old government and fighting for a new one. Soon, it appears the CEO of Midway named Artur Drakon has faced betrayal by the Syndicate government as it failed to safeguard its citizens from the alien invasions as well as from the Allied forces.
After that, Artur decides to launch an attack on the Syndicate government with the help of his command over the loyal soldiers, so as to take control of the system of the Midway Star. In his attempts, Artur gets assisted by an ally whom he does not seem to trust. On the other hand, CEO of the ground forces named Gwen Iceni is sent to the Midway Star because her superiors thought that she was not quite ruthless. As a result, she makes them regret their decision by attacking the ships of the Syndicate government and commandeering the warships of the Midway Star. After some time into the fight, Gwen Iceni declares the Midway Star as an independent planet on behalf of its people and stays in charge as its ‘President’. But the whole, she has no other choice than relying on Artur Drakon’s forces to ensure the safety of the Midway Star. Now, it becomes necessary for Iceni and Drakon to keep aside their differences if they want to succeed in their attempts. It was very important for both of them to come together as a team if they want to succeed in preventing the population of the Midway Star in rebelling against them, defending their planet against the threat of the alien enigma race, as well defeat the saboteurs who attempted to establish the Syndicate rule once again.
The second novel of the series was published under the title ‘Perilous Shield’. It was released by the Ace Hardcover publishing house in the year 2012. The plot of this novel continues to revolve around the happenings in the lives of the primary characters named Artur Drakon and Gwen Iceni. In the opening sequence of the plot of the novel, it is shown that the rebel leaders of the Midway Star had become successful in defeating the Syndicate forces. But, they struggled to form a government that would secure the power of the planet as well as please its citizens. As the previous rulers had become enemies and a threat to the human race from the alien race continued to remain, there were chances that the old adversaries of the Midway Star might become their allies.
Despite not trusting the followers of the Syndicate, General Drakon decided to partner with a former CEO of the government and overthrew them. Now, he faces another threat from an enigma fleet, and in this difficult time, he cannot afford to lose the support of Gwen Iceni. She is of the opinion that the humanity’s defense lies in the Midway Star. Therefore, she makes use of the self-prevention training from the Syndicate and gets ready to fight for protecting the fate of the Midway Star. Iceni does not even mind joining hands with General Drakon as well as with an officer from the hated Alliance forces. Together, they plan to take a bigger risk and recruit a personnel for manning the warships against the enigma forces of the aliens. However, before doing so, Iceni and Drakon must fight against the hidden dangers that were very close to their planet. They very well knew about the fact that the human threats could jeopardize the freedom of the Midway Star as well as the lives both of them too.

Beware! Don’t let the “Wooke Hollywood” destroy another story. We live in times where honor, bravery, and self-sacrifice are replaced by pointless violence as long as is bloody and gory, with graphic sexual content, the more unique and twisted, the better for pushing their WOkE agenda. You won’t find this garbage in Jack’s books, so don’t expect Hollywood to be interested. Recently Amazon committed a such travesty. Anyone who enjoyed (Wheel of time) by R. Jordan and watched what was done to the story will agree that casting actors based on “how much they hate Trump ” is a bad and expensive idea, not only for lack of interest but also cause a lot of people to cancel their Prime subscription.
Don Dustin says it perfectly. Admiral Geary presents the best traits of humanity, few of which are taught today, either at home or in our educational systems.
It is most unfortunate that in these days and times that Hollywood cannot produce the lost fleet series, what the public needs more than anything today is a demonstration of honor and integrity which the lost fleet portrays. in the 40.s 50.s 60.s and into the 70.s the most popular shows demonstrated honor integrity and valor, we need John Gary to lead us back to where those traits are once again in the highest tradition humanity. We need a John Wayne of space. I have read almost all of your books and enjoyed every one ,thanks Jack
