Telekinetic is the first book in the Hyllis Family series by Laurence E. Dahners. If you love a good science fiction story, then be sure to check this book out!
This is the first book in a series of stories that focuses on the Hyllis family. They are a group of people who have inherited telekinetic abilities and it runs in the family. This initial story is set after an apocalypse has gone down induced by the plague.
The collapse of civilization since then has set humanity back quite a ways, all the way back to using horsepower and iron. The first in the Hyllis family to realize that they had a talent for feeling things was Tarc Hyllis’s mother, and then his grandfather before her. They ultimately turned to working in the healing field because they had the ability to ‘feel’ inside of any patients.
This would let them figure out what the illness was and get to the underlying causes of why an illness happened. But once a diagnosis has been made there is not much that can be done to treat the issue.
Meanwhile, Tarc’s father has the ability to move objects with his mind by pushing them. However, because he is not able to ‘feel’ inside things he does not have any idea where he should be focusing this ability and pushing to help the patients.
Tarc is getting the ability to do both things and the two powers inside of him will let him be able to diagnose a problem and then be able to deal with that problem by directing the energy inside of the patient. It seems like the perfect answer to all of their recent problems.
His mother is very excited about this development, as she has been having to watch all of her patients pass away because they cannot be treated properly. But when some strangers appear out of nowhere and start scouting the same town where the family resides, they don’t know what to do. Worse, the strangers start a violent takeover.
Tarc wants to believe that he has the power to keep them at bay and stave off the invasion, but will he be strong enough? Or is this a freak invasion that they cannot possibly stand against? Read the first book in this exciting series to find out!
Teleporter is the second book in the Hyllis Family series by Laurence E. Dahners. If you read the first story in this series and thought that it was entertaining, keep all of the supernatural adventure going and check out the sequel!
The Hyllis family have always been known for having talents. They are still operating with their supernatural powers after an apocalypse set off by the plague resulted in all of civilization collapsing and putting humans back to a simpler age.
Eva Hyllis as well as her ancestors all chose to become healers thanks to their talents which let them feel the insides of patients. It has also helped them to diagnose the causes underlying many illnesses but they have not been able to effectively help the people suffering from them.
This might change when Eva’s son Tarc finds that he has apparently developed the ability to push objects mentally and can also feel inside people. He could stop someone from bleeding by finding out that they were in the first place and then using his powers to reach inside of them and to stop the bleeding.
It turns out that other members of the family are also able to move small objects. Daussie, Tarc’s sister, is able to teleport material things as long as they are small. But this is huge when it comes to treating patients because it means that she has the ability to remove something like a gallstone from a patient and provide great relief.
This will be helpful to patients who have this type of affliction, but is it possible that Daussie is able to do more? When the family decides that it is time to depart from their Walterston home, it means they have a long path ahead of them. In these times, traveling by road is dangerous. Can their talents protect them, or are they outmatched? Read the second book in the Hyllis Family series to find out!
