Honor raconteur is an American fantasy writer. She studied at the Tone State University graduating with a bachelor’s degree in education. She has widely traveled visiting places like the Tehachapi, Salt Lake City, and California and currently lives in Tennessee. She has grown up with reading as a hobby further strengthen by the fact that she was born to a fantasy-loving mother and a book warm father.
Honor started out writing at a very tender age, and though she never managed to publish at that age, she works as a full-time author. Her first book was the junta which to her surprise sold massively, and this opened up to her writing career. She has created many novels and series since making her first publication. Honor also owns a publishing company, Raconteur Publishers.
Warlords Rising
Warlords Rising introduces the Warlords series. Riicbeccaan is a weather mage, but what she is about to face together with two other mages Nolan and Trev ’nor is way bigger than they have ever encountered in their life. A simple check turns to be a terrifying and horrific adventure for the three mages.
On one occasion, the weather is working against the usual patterns, and Riicbeccaan seizes the opportunity to go over to the dreaded side of Khbunter-Libendorf. The mission is unofficial, but she has an objective which she has always wanted to achieve; to see dragons. She has nothing to fear as there is the company of the two other mages and the three are adequately trained. Things do not go as she had planned as from the moment they arrive in khobunter, everything seems to go amiss. To the entire world, khobunter is a political hell but adding to this is another problem that eats deep and which no one dares speak about. Before they can unravel the mystery, they find themselves already in its nest, trapped.
The three have the option of running away or fighting themselves out of this trap. They cannot take the first option as the three are fully trained to handle such a situation. Using their power, they free themselves from the situation that they had not anticipated. Their abilities are way beyond that of a magician, and against the expectations of many people, they rough through the difficult task.
The author artistically draws her characters making you visualize their characters. More to this, she explains the book setting vividly making this book one of the best reads. The action is fantastic making this a fantasy story that you will not be in a hurry to put down on opening the first page.
Warlords Ascending
The second piece in the trilogy warlords is Warlords Ascending. At no one time did Rhebentrev Noren think that he would become a warlord not even in khobunter the political hot zone. He has a lot to give attention and receiving orders from a gardener is something that he was not prepared for, but now it has arrived.
The warlords need to come up with an academy of their own but fall short of the magicians to run the academy. At the same time, they have to conquer the remaining part of Riyu without making a mistake such as the one they did at Alfred watchtower. For all this to take place, time is needed to gather the dragons, willpower, and magic to propel them but the warlords at khobunter are not willing to give them that time. Things go wrong, trouble is at the horizon, but the warlords have to face these shortcomings and deliver a victory since this is what they are trained to do.
The book takes twists and turns packed with action and suspense as the warlords embark on a journey that either takes their lives or deliver them victory. The journey is not easy, and the strength in the characters is seen as they fight off their enemy all the way with at times almost showing signs of defeat. Courage, loyalty, and honor drive them to face of their enemies irrespective of the fact that they are overly short of many things. These are people who believe in a course and are willing to go to any extent see their demands met. Honor Raconteur delivers what can only be described as perfect.
Arrows of Revolution
The Trilogy Warlords close with the book Arrows of Revolution. Planning a revolution with little or absolutely no army or magicians is what Hendrix is doing. The only thing that he and his group has to do is to make a plan and hope to take over the Lyshian throne.
Hendrix is the main man to the plan of taking over the Iyshian throne, and it’s the only time that Estole has to get rid of the strive that has always existed between them and the lyshians before there are completely wiped off. The main problem is the fact that they don’t have an army and at the same time their wizards are already rugged creating one big question-how will they come up with a bloodless revolution. Having lived all their lives fighting, this is one of the hardest things that the group has and carrying out a revolution successfully without spilling blood will be a challenging task. The options taken include forming alliances with pirates and using spies to spot the weaknesses that can be used against them to create a quick win.
Arrows of Revolution develop into a string of surprises and well-plotted story as the story grows old. It is surprising how the warlords shift from using their might and magic to using their brains to garner a victory all geared towards putting to an end the hostility that has always brought a lot of bloodshed to the two sides of the antagonism. Though the country looked weak at first, it turns out to be the wisest and strongest ion the end.
This is one story that will keep you on your feet from the start to the end. The characters are peaceful and wise shaping them into a more civilized group. Additionally, she adds quite some surprises in the book which grabs the reader’s attention and the urge to read on to the end.
