Hania Allen is an accomplished European author.
She is was born in the city of Liverpool, with her parents living there as Polish refugees. From a young age, the author had the desire to go into space. That was how she became acquainted with the Project Juno competition, the object of which was to find the first astronaut for Britain.
She pursued higher education, pursuing information management while attending the University of St. Andrews. She would leave the position with the intent of writing on a full time basis.
Hania is often writing but when she is not busy with that she can be found playing the piano along with her godchildren, who she credits as being musically gifted. Hania does not share the talent but she definitely tries to make up for it with a sense of enthusiasm since she does not necessarily have the talent.
The author has resided in many places but so far she has spent more time residing in Scotland than the other places she has lived. She enjoys many things about the country, including the people, and does not mind the continual bad weather and constant rain. She resides in Fife in a small fishing village.
Hania Allen is the creator and author of the Von Valenti series of fictional novels as well as the Dania Gorska series of fictional novels. She has also written a stand alone novel, The Ice Hotel.
Jack in the Box is the first fictional novel in the Von Valenti series by Hania Allen. This book first came out in 2012 and introduced the readers to Detective Yvonne Valenti, also known as Von Valenti, for the first time. If you love crime fiction or just want something new and interesting to read, give this book a try!
This is a great crime fiction story where all of a sudden a hit show in the West End of London falls into a terrible condition. There people are dying under strange circumstances, and it’s bearing similarities to a case that never was solved from three decades previous.
Many questions still remain to be answered. It stands to wonder who was the killer who took out Max Quincey while the play Jack-in-the-Box was being put on? Who was it that in 1985 killed some male prostitutes, back when Max was starring in it and the show was last put on?
Then there’s the Jack-in-the-Box doll that was discovered along with the body. Does it mean anything? Could the marks on its eyes that are identical to the mutations on Max’s face and to the original victims’ toys mean something more? It’s seeming that the killer has either returned or someone is copying the work of a killer from long ago. Both are bad news, in Von’s opinion.
The more that Von Valenti and DI Steve English look into this, the more questions that the two partners have. Now they’re doing what they can in a race against time to get tot he bottom of many lies, clues, and half truths, all working to catch a killer before they are able to claim another victim. If they don’t catch them soon, Von is certain that more people will die.
Von is looking into the new case and the old case at the same time, hoping that she is able to find a breakthrough that makes all of this much simpler. But the more that she investigates these cases, the more that she finds that her personal life is falling apart. Can she resolve two cases that seem impossible to crack while also keeping the relationships in her life afloat? Read this compelling mystery from Hania Allen to find out!
Double Tap is the second fictional novel in the Von Valenti series by Hania Allen. If you liked the first story in this series, go ahead and check out the second one and see what you think of it!
Von has left the police behind and gone after her daughter. Now she finds herself in Edinburgh, working there to make ends meet as a private detective.
Von soon gets an inquiry. They want her to look into a professional hit, one that is known as a double tap. It may have happened during a game of paintball, but this was not the type that involves paint and the victim is not coming back from the executive match.
Von is going to have to use all of the skills that she has acquired over the years, her tenacity, and her smarts to get to the bottom of this case. Of course, nothing is ever as it appears, and that especially proves to be true when it comes to this case.
Now the detective must try to get some truth out of all the lies she is surrounded with to get to the bottom of this case. Will Von be successful, or will she find that some cases are just destined to go unsolved? Read this compelling mystery from Hania Allen to find out!
