The life of an outcast in the society young man Osric, takes a major turn from the simplicity of a quiet life in a village next to sea with a carpenter, to being held captive by the Norsemen raiders who destroyed their entire village. Sigurd the lucky, who is the chief of his new fellowship, has a strong inclination to Osric and believes they are tied by a strange blood bond. Here, Osric finds the benefit and forges his ties with Sigurd. At this, new name as assigned becomes Raven. Out of greed for money, did Ealdred steal the holy book that Osric and his fellowship had made a joint effort in stealing. Ealdred had a deal with the Frank emperor, Charlemagne to exchange the book with as much riches as he would wish for. His plot although well organized is countered at river Sicauna’s mouth just before he entered the Frank-lands by his ex-fellowship members and his slaughter is inevitable.
Meanwhile, Sigurd the luck back in their land, and Mauger who is Ealdred’s personal body guard settle a long standing truce between them at a duel with conditions that only one is to walk off alive.
