R.L. Stine is a best-selling American children’s author. His full name is Robert Lawrence Stine and he also uses pen names for his work, like Eric Affabee. The writer is well known in the world of children’s literature and is recognized for his Goosebumps series, which became incredibly popular, hit best-selling status and made him the number-one selling writer in America for years.
Born in 1943, R.L. has been writing ever since he was 9 years old. He would come up with his own joke books, short stories, and also write comic books that he would share with friends. Ever since then, he’s been writing. He attended Ohio State University, where he graduated and then worked on the kid’s humor magazine Bananas as its editor-in-chief.
Stine would then create a horror series for young adults called Fear Street. Published by Parachute Press, they teamed up again to release Goosebumps, which would go on to sell over 250 million copies. He is married to his wife and they have a son. Stine has received Kids’ Choice Awards from Nickelodeon and Disney Adventures and was named a top author selection by the children as part of the Read Across America program. He resides with his wife in Manhattan. Many of his projects have been turned into movies and television series, including the famous Goosebumps.
Margot Becker is a published author, artist, educator and weaver. She is known for collaborating with Ann M. Martin, the author of The Baby-Sitter’s Club books, on a book about the author titled “Ann M. Martin: The Story of the Author of The Baby-Sitters Club”. She is also the writer of the second book in the G.I. Joe Books, Divide and Conquer. Through her weaving work, she likes to explore the natural environment, sense of place, and connection between the conscious of the individual and the communal. She began her weaving from her desire to understand the origin and production of cloths and lives affected by their production. She graduated from Bard College in 2009 with her B.A. and from California College of Art with her MFA in 2020.
S.M. Ballard is a published author and the writer of Fool’s Gold, the third book in the G.I. Joe series. She is married to her husband Brian and together they live on a ranch in Pearce, Arizona. She belongs to the Western Writers of America group as well as the Cochise County Historical Society, the Society of Southwestern Authors, and the Old Pearce Preservation Association. She has had her writing published in a variety of publications and contributes to The Tombstone Times regularly.
The GI Joe Books series of fictional novels are written by a variety of different authors that each write their own novel. The series first started in 1988, with the publication of the first novel, Siege of Serpentor, written by R.L. Stine. That was followed by Divide and Conquer, penned by Margot Becker. The third novel in the series is titled Fool’s Gold and was written by S.M. Ballard. Divide and Conquer is the second novel in the G.I. Joe Books and was composed by Margot Becker. When a computer genius working for the G.I. Joe team finds a path through to the computer banks of COBRA, he’s not thrilled by what he witnesses.

Joe group must work together so that the plan for the device does not come to fruition and the planet is safe. Otherwise the entire world will become COBRA’s hostage.
