Felix R. Savage is a published author of fiction.
Felix is married and shares two daughters with his wife. They live together in Tokyo, Japan. The family also has two cats. He often goes to the office, where he spends his time getting ready for the planet to be overtaken by robots with a sense of ambivalence.
The author always loved reading science fiction books, and when he couldn’t find enough to read, he decided that he would write it himself. He enjoys telling stories that are about the future because humans do not change even when technology does. He was born in the seventies in South Carolina.
He enjoys spending time in Japan with his family and loves to take to the keyboard and write something when he is not busy with other things such as translating, serving the cat and its many whims, or spending some quality time with his family. He is a best-selling author that has had his work top the charts of USA Today and the New York Times, but keeps on keeping his low profile in case the lizard people have finally discovered him.
Felix R. Savage was born in the United States When he was younger, his family moved to Ireland as well as other places around France and the British Isles. They also moved to Scotland to the islands of the Hebrides, located just off of the coast. They made friends there and Felix went to school with his brother. They would move to live in rural France, where he and his brother did learn to enjoy the local delicacies, specifically the chocolate croissants. He also saw a samurai movie there for the first time and immediately developed a passion for the genre. He related to “Zatoichi: The Blind Swordsman”, who constantly had to move even though he was always doing the right thing and fighting for justice.
Felix loved these movies so much that he made the effort to learn the Japanese language to understand them more. His mother gave birth to another sibling and they relocated to Ireland for another time, where Felix went to the school in town locally again, listening to rock to fit in. He would also go through tragedy losing his mother and stepfather, causing relatives to take Felix in along with his brothers.
Felix would grow up for some time in Boston, attending the same high school as Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. He kept busy writing and his first books written using an assumed name would end up getting him admitted into college, even though he can admit that his SAT scores were subpar.
Felix went to New York City to attend college. He would end up choosing to relocate to Japan, a place known for its conformity over the rebellion that he was used to. He thought that it would be a safe place to begin again. He picked the new name of Felix, after the gentle Saint Felix of Nola that worked to help the poor. He selected Savage as part of his name because he thought it had good punk origins. He also liked the works of George R.R. Martin and J.R.R. Tolkien, so it only made sense to use “R” as his new middle initial.
Thus renamed, the author settled in to this new country to start again. Felix had a passion for much of the culture of Japan that made it easier for him to adapt. He already loved udon noodles, sake, anime, pachinko, and samurai movies. Upon arrival, he received several offers to teach English, choosing Japan Women’s University. This had something to do with the fact that there were statistically more women there that were young and single than the other universities. He did get a salary for teaching, and earned side money by translating for a big corporation.
Felix soon discovered that he was very good at being a Japanese and English translator. He also was good at drinking, to the point where he could out-imbibe your average salary man who was used to slinging back the drinks with gusto after work. He enjoyed a lot of success and eventually that translated to doing well in his personal life and he got married.
