About Edo Van Belkom
A Canadian author of horror, Edo Van Belkom is well-known for his ability in crafting fiction filled with suspense and tension. Really grabbing his readers from the outset, he crafts narratives that hold his audience in their seats, not letting go until the final conclusion. Pushing the format in both new and interesting directions, he really captures the sense of horror that his readers are looking for. Delivering it in a straightforward manner that immediately gets to the point, he really doesn’t waste any time when it comes to telling a good story.
Letting his work speak for itself ostensibly, he brings the horror to life upon the page, really immersing his readers within it. Generating numerous different ideas and concepts, he’s extremely gifted at delivering something quite different in the process. Over time this has generated a worldwide following for him, as he’s reached readers far and wide from all over the world. Resonating with readers from a variety of different backgrounds, his work is truly a testament to what the horror genre can really achieve.
Another key aspect of his work is that of his characterizations, as he really creates personalities that feel wholly real and true. Stepping off from the page, each of his protagonists feel as though they speak to the reader in a manner that’s honest and authentic. He also says exactly what it is that he wants to say, making his voice heard through his work, delivering a clear message in each of his stories. With a lot more to come yet, he definitely isn’t finishing any time soon, as he’s set to be writing for a long time to come.
Early and Personal Life
Born in 1962 in Toronto, Ontario, the future author to be Edo Van Belkom would grow up with a clear passion for storytelling. Keenly interested in creative writing from an early age, he would pursue his craft, nurturing his talent and refining his style. Over time this would progress, as he would come to find his own distinctive voice and approach to the art-form as it related to him.
Attending York University, he would graduate with an honors based in creative writing, before going on to work as a journalist full-time for five years. During this time he would develop his style, working as a sports reporter for ‘The Brampton Times’ between 1987 and 1990, before going on to become a police reporter for the North York Mirror for two months. Working as an instructor Sheridan College, he’s worked with the Peel Board of Education teaching short-story writing, and he now lives in Brampton, Ontario, with Roberta his wife, and their son Luke.
Writing Career

He’s also written under the pen-name of Evan Hollander, being dubbed by ‘The Vancouver Sun’ as a ‘leading writer of erotica’ in Canada.
Starting out back in 21995, he would publish the title ‘Wyrm Wolf, and later that stand-alone novel ‘Teeth’ in 2001. Acclaimed for his short-fiction too, he’s also published several series, such as ‘Dragon Dice,’ ‘Deathlands,’ and ‘Wolf Pack,’ as he continues writing to this day.
Blood Road
First brought out on the 1st of March in 2004, this would be a stand-alone horror-thriller with an entirely self-contained narrative. Not a part of any series as such, it would come out through the ‘Pinnacle’ publishing imprint to a lot of critical and commercial success. Combining elements of different genres, its a must for both fans of the author and of the overall genre as a whole.
Trapped in a dead-end job with her deadbeat boyfriend and no prospects, Amanda Peck decides to hit the road and not look back. Hitching rides and across the open road, she heads out looking for adventure, and to find some place where she can truly discover herself. That’s when she begins to realize a deadly killer is on her trail, and she now faces a nightmare with a predator on eighteen wheels prowls the country for their next victim. Will Amanda be able to escape their grasp, can she find her sanctuary, and what will become of her as she heads down the blood road?
A truly gripping horror-thriller with plenty of action and excitement throughout, making it a more than engaging narrative. The book has plenty of suspense and tension, gluing the reader to their chair, constantly turning the page for what’s coming next. Its use of atmosphere and ambiance coupled with well-drawn characters makes for an extremely tense and action-packed ride.
Lord Soth
Initially released in 1996 through the ‘TSR’ publishing house, this would be the sixth book in the ‘Dragonlance: The Warriors’ series of novels. A fantasy series of books, each one would be written by a different fantasy author, with them all being set in the same world. Building upon what came before, it has its own self-contained narrative, although there is plenty for returning fans to enjoy. The book is a fun adventure with Lord Soth as the anti-hero protagonist at the heart of the story, ultimately driving its narrative forwards.
Once a mighty warrior, Lord Soth would become jealous, neglecting his duties, as he would descend into darkness and evil. A powerful Knight of Solamnia, his pride was said to be his undoing, as he’d earn the order highest honors, with his heart pure and spotless. Now he’s been set a task by the god Palandine, as he must put a stop to the Kingpriest of Istar gaining power from those deities that previously oversaw Krynn. Is he truly up to the task, can he prevent the Cataclysm from taking place, and what will finally become of Lord Soth?
