It is still ongoing and the author is about to publish a few more novels under the series in the coming months. The first novel of the series was published by the St. Martin’s Paperbacks publishing house in the year 2011. It was titled ‘Death, Taxes, and a French Manicure’ and featured an IRS special agent, who seemed to be well versed in her field. She also seemed to be dead set on and determined to make sure that the tax cheats are minimized, if not stopped. The IRS special agent in the novel is depicted in the form of a female protagonist known as Tara Holloway, who goes on to feature in all the other novels of the series as well. The plot of the novel is set in Dallas, Texas, United States and opens up with a warning sign for the tax evaders and cheaters as Tara Holloway gets appointed as the new special agent on a payroll by the Criminal Investigations Division of The Treasury Department. Tara likes to ensure the safety of the world for the honest tax payers by kicking the asses of the guilty ones. She keeps taking the social security numbers of her targets and keeps a track of them related to their tax payments. In her latest mission, she is asked to go in the pursuit of an ice-cream vendor named Joseph Cullen, who seems to be a hot target. Another character named Michael Gryder is introduced, who is depicted as running a Ponzi scheme along with a banker named Stan Shelton. Stan is getting his lake house, landscaped by the lover of Tara Holloway, named Brett Ellington. Being already stuck with the tough job of following the trail of money, Tara also faces a new conundrum, thinking whether she should continue to date Brett by trusting him or get him arrested and put behind the bars. She knows that if she has to get her love back into her life, she has to pay a heavy cost. However, Tara is ready to face any situation in her life as far as she is able to fulfill her duty as an IRS special agent and serve justice.

She partners up with another agent named Eddie and goes on the hunt of one of the dirtiest and richest felons. Tara hopes of completing the investigation very soon and going on a vacation. Marcos Mendoza is introduced as a man with dangerous connections with the cartels around the Mexican border. Although, he is one of the prime suspects of a number of crimes, he has never been accused or arrested. Many of his business associates have been found dead in bags, after getting disappeared mysteriously.
