Diane Chamberlain is one of the well known American author of the adult and romantic fiction novels. She has written a total of 24 novels in her career. Many of which have featured in the Sunday Times and the USA Today bestseller lists. Most of the novels written by author Diane are based on the Literature & Fiction, Mystery, and Thriller genres, and have been translated into more than 20 foreign languages all over the world. A few of the most popular books written by her include The Silent Sister, The Keeper of the Light series, the Necessary Lies, and The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes. Other than these novels, author Diane also likes to write novels based on complex stories and the tales of relationships between the males and the females, children and parents, friends, and between brothers and sisters. Although the themes of many of her books focus and revolve around love, forgiveness, compassion, and family, the stories of her books often showcase a combination of mystery, drama, intrigue, and secrets.

Having a profound background in psychology has helped author Diane to develop a keen interest in trying to understand the way of ticking of the people. She also considers her psychology background as an important tool necessary for creating the realistic characters of her novels. Author Diane was born and brought up in Plainfield, New Jersey, United States. She used to often spend her summer days at the Jersey Shore. Diane has also spent many of her growing years in northern Virginia and San Diego, before going on to make North Carolina her permanent home. She studied clinical social work from the San Diego State University and obtained her bachelor’s and the master’s degrees in the same subject. Author Diane did not become a full time writer right after completing her graduation. At first, she began working in several hospitals in Washington, D.C., and San Diego. Later, she opened her own private psychotherapy clinic in Alexandria, Virginia, and began practicing. She specialized in adolescents.

Throughout these years after her graduation, author Diane used to keep writing about whatever came to her mind in her free time. Very soon, she completed and published her first book titled ‘Private Relations’ in the year 1989. Even though the book took a total of 4 years to get completed, Diane believes that her efforts and time paid off as she went on to win the RITA award in the category of the Best Single Contemporary Novel. As of today, author Diane Chamberlain lives along with her partner named John Pagliuca, who is a photographer by profession, and her Sheltie named Cole. Her family comprises of 3 stepdaughters, a couple of sons-in-law, and 4 wonderful grandchildren. Currently, author Diane is working on the plot of her next novel. She believes that the real joy of writing is received only when you get the opportunity of touching the readers’ minds with your words. This way, she hopes that her stories also make the readers think and give them something enjoyable to read. The fans also enjoy reading her books as they are filled with enough surprises and twists.

One of the initial novels written by author Diane Chamberlain was titled ‘The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes’. It was published in the year 2006 by the Mira Books publishing house. The plot of this novel revolves around the happenings in the lives of the main characters named CeeCee Wilkes, Timothy Gleason, and Genevieve Russell, and depicts the stories of a missing child, an unsolved murder case, and a life full of deception. In the opening sequence of the plot of the novel, Genevieve Russell is shown as being pregnant during the year 1977 and getting disappeared mysteriously. After a period of 20 years, the remains of her dead body are recovered and one of the characters named Timothy Gleason is charged with her murder. However, the investigators do not find any trace of the unborn child. Later, it is revealed that CeeCee Wilkes is aware of how Genevieve Russell lost her life as she was present there at that time. She always knows about Russell’s missing as she had made the devastating decision of raising the infant as her own about two decades ago. Now, as Timothy Gleason is about to face the death penalty, she seems to have one more choice to make. She thinks of telling the truth and destroying the family or letting an innocent man die with the intention of protecting a lifetime of deceptions and lies. Timothy seems rather confused as to what action she should take.

One of the other successful novels written by author Diane Chamberlain was published under the title ‘The Midwife’s Confession’. It was released by the Mira Books publishing house in the year 2011. The plot of this novel deals with the main characters named Anna, Emerson, Tara, and Noelle. In the opening sequence of the plot of the novel, Anna receives a letter telling her about a devastating truth which seemed far more difficult to learn about, than to be written by the writer of the letter. However, the letter remains unfinished and becomes the only clue for Tara and Emerson to find the reason behind the suicide of one of their close friends named Noelle. They knew Noelle as having a passion for causes, calling as a midwife, showing love for her family and friends, all of which described her as a woman who used to embrace her life. But, there were many other things that Emerson and Tara did not know about Noelle. After the discovering the letter and the heartbreaking secret in it, they begin to uncover the complex truths of Noelle’s life. She seemed to have touched the lives of Tara and Emerson, as well as the life of a desperate and complete stranger with compassion, love, betrayal, and deceit. Just like the previous novels written by author Diana, this novel too became a huge hit all over the world. The success of this novel along with other similar novels, helped author Diane to establish herself as one of the noteworthy authors. She received a lot of motivation and encouragement to write many other novels in her writing career. The critics and her fellow authors praised her a lot for her dedicated and determined efforts in writing this excellent novel, which boosted her confidence very much and helped her to become an even more successful novelist.
