There are many great writers out there but only a few can deliver great works. Some of these writers are so good that by reading one of their books one feels like they want to devour the entire bunch of their books. One such great writer is Deborah Brown, the author of the Paradise series, Trouble Florida Keys mysteries and Deception among many others. Her works are unique and phenomenal. They can make one laugh, cry and cheer at the same time. Deborah is a red head 5’2 in height with long legs that makes her stand out from the crowd. She hates exercising and often jokes about it that she actually loves it so much that she makes sure she visits that gym after every five years. She is an avid lover of strawberry lemonade and likes collecting seashells.

Deborah is not new to writing. In fact even before her paradise series, she openly admitted that she had been writing for as long as she could remember. She has done poetry, sappy short stories and she has also done a romance novel. She enjoys writing and creating stories well of course apart from enjoying her strawberry lemonade and collecting seashells. Deborah Brown in her words confessed that she wanted to create book with a variety of unforgettable characters coupled by heat and romance and lots of guns. To spice up the entire plot, she wanted her books also to have humor and charm and that is exactly what she gave her readers in her books. Today Deborah lives in South Florida where she claims Mother Nature often take out her wrath through hurricanes. She lives there with there with her family and her rescue animals (cats) who she refers to as her demon children due to their ungrateful nature.

Crazy in Paradise

Her first book in the paradise series is “Crazy in Paradise”. There is nothing as difficult as picking up someone else past and try to live your own. In Crazy in Paradise you meet Madison Westin an honorary troubled queen. Madison gets to attend her aunt’s funeral which is a total screwy event from the get go. She is surprised when her aunt’s attorney tells her that she is supposed to inherit everything she left behind. She inherits the Beachfront Motel in the Florida Keys but at the same time, she also inherits a group of colorful tenants’ ex-con’s drunks and fugitives. She also has another problem which is trying to fight control of the property from both the lawyer and the ever conniving motel manager. Madison is just lucky that she is the kind of a woman that likes living life at the edge. Strangely enough, she feels at home in the midst of all these. She is the kind of a person that would feel comfortable amidst pressures. She has a number of dangerous encounters and she needs to learn not to leave her home without her Glock or she would get killed. Bullets fly right across her face, a dead body turns up black mail and kidnappings are happening right around her. Everything around her is crazy but life must go on.

Deborah Brown’s “Crazy in Paradise” is packed with Romance, Mystery, Intrigue and Suspense. This is a must read and oh yes, they is also humor that makes this book for a fast and enjoyable read. This was her first and one of her best books. One will certainly find it difficult to put this down.

Deception in Paradise

This is the second in the paradise series by Deborah Brown and Madison Westin is back. Most people read the first volume in the paradise series before coming to this but it is not a must. This book can also be read as a standalone and it is very easy connecting the stories. Anybody who loves good mystery will definitely love this. With Madison’s never say no style, she is now smarter and also packing an attitude not to mention her Glock.

This time, snag rolls into tarpon Cove in the form of Madison’s ex spouse Jackson Devereaux whom Madison had hoped never to see again. Jack has a criminal history and ends up becoming involved with a murder. Madison is resolute to get rid of him but at the same time, she is stuck defending him so that she can legally keep her home. Soon after, the devious attorney from the first paradise series gets involved and causes more legal harm for Madison. It is also in this book that Madison’s mum finds a boyfriend and she is not happy with that. We see her mum coming into her own in this book which makes it even more fun to read. Jack’s arrival in the town brings unparalleled turmoil and a sudden reappearance of corpses.

Madison decides to team up with her beautiful friend Fabiana and together, the two women go from hunting the usual cast of eccentric and weirdo to chasing down a murder. It is disappointing to watch Madison trying to help her criminal husband but apparently it is now clear that is her character. She cannot resist helping someone she once cared for. The action however turns serious when Madison and Fabiana decide to stir up a bad enemy while at the same time trying to stay one step ahead of everyone. Unfortunately, in such a game of cats and mouse, you either escape with a whisker or you end up dying.

Deception in Paradise is the second book in Deborah Brown’s paradise series and it can be read as a standalone book if you prefer. The book is packed with action, romance intrigue suspense and mystery.

None of Deborah’s book is boring. The paradise series of books are some of the most read series of books. Thanks to her creativity, her sense of humor and her ability to pack action and mystery, most readers are definitely going to enjoy reading these books. Deborah Brown is indeed a talented author and it is beyond doubts that her books are going to be read for generations to come.

   I have to ask why Madison is carrying a briefcase? Nobody I know uses one anymore + it doesn’t make sense as she wears tennis and flip flops. Small detail but it seems out of character.

   I have to tell you I stumbled onto your Paradise series on Kindle and I can not stop reading the books. I love this series and even got my husband hooked on it! All I can say is Wow !!!! Thank you so much for this amazing gift! I recommend this series to anyone who loves a great and funny read. The characters are awesome and seem very real!
