During her travel, a problem occurs in her car, forcing her to wander in the woods for help. When Andi arrives at the cabin of Luke Brennan, she feels relieved. She feels attracted towards the handsome man, but he doesn’t like her annoying nature.

When Luke takes Andi to his mother’s ranch house up the mountain, she is warmly welcomed there. Luke’s mother tells Andi to consider it her own house and stay for as long as she wants. Andi ends up falling in love with Luke’s ranch, its occupants, and Montana’s beauty. In spite of their constant fighting, Luke and Andi end up forming a bond that grows stronger with each passing day. Later, Andi realizes that she engaged to another and finds herself in a dilemma. Luke knows that a city girl like her is off-limits for him but still, he remains adamant to make her his life partner.

This novel opens by introducing Colt Brennan as a shy and sweet cowboy who has worked all his life on his family ranch. He has never thought of doing anything else until the beautiful Carly Stevens arrives at his door and steals away his heart. Carly has the reputation of getting bored with men easily and Colt is warned about her nature, but he does not believe it. As they start indulging in kisses, Colt becomes sure that he has found the right woman. When Carly urges him to leave his life in Montana behind and move to Seattle with her, he agrees. Shortly after, Carly starts pully away slowly and this leaves Colt confused.

Carly’s betrayal forces Colt to get close to Beth Owens, Carly’s roommate. He develops an instant connection with the kind-hearted and beautiful Beth.
