Nick Louth is an author and a freelance journalist.
He lives in Lincolnshire, U.K. Prior to writing novels, he worked for Reuters news agency as a foreign correspondent. He also contributed regularly to publications such as MSN and the Financial Times and several financial magazines.
Nick attended the London School of Economics and graduated in 1979. Once he graduated, he was made City Editor of Prestel CitiService. He would eventually go on to work for Reuters for twelve years. During that time, he worked in several abroad places such as Hong Kong, London, Amsterdam, and New York.
He has had several of his articles be featured in huge newspapers around the world in places such as the Wall Street Journal and USA Today. He has also interviewed some of the biggest executives in the world, like Bill Gates of Microsoft and General Electric’s Jack Welch. He has also made appearances in the media, and has been seen on BBC Radio 4, Reuters Television, and BBC World Service. The experience working for Reuters has also lent a contemporary feel to a lot of his writing, such as the thrillers.
Working as a freelance writer, he has written pieces for Money Observer, Investors Chronicle, Financial Times, and MSN. He wrote a U.K. savings and investment book called Multiply Your Money that came out in 2001. It was updated by Harriman House and reprinted in 2015. Meanwhile, his article “Making Sense of Chaos” for Investors chronicle received the article of the year award in 2014 for the U.K. Chartered Financial Analysts Society.
Louth’s book Bite, a thriller, was self-published in 2007. In 2014 it was a best-seller and sold over 300,000 copies. It is now an e-book and a paperbook and has been translated into six languages. His second thriller novel Heartbreaker received positive reviews from Amazon reviewers. He would come out with more thriller books, such as Trapped and Mirror Mirror.
His first DCI Craig Gillard book was published in 2017 and reached the top 50 best-selling books for the Amazon U.K. and U.S. Nick Louth is married. He runs creative writing workshops and does public speaking.
