However, the evidence is accompanied by a dead body that washes ashore close to the site. This embroils Emma Fielding and her archaeology students in a different type of exploration. Margaret was an accused murderess and witch, and her home was excavated around 3 months ago by Emma Fielding. Emma is not allowed to read the diary alone, but is accompanied by 3 members from the Shrewsberry Foundation. And before she could do anything about them, she learns that one of the members has died. Emma Fielding is not able to find any solace in the dark beauty of the wilderness surrounding Margaret’s home. She thinks that Madam Chandler has encoded some dark secrets in her writings. As she continues to read further, she finds shocking similarities between an old slaying ad the recent death of her fellow archaeologist.
