Chris Keniston is American author famously known for Aloha series which debuted in 2013. She was on her way to Australia when fell in love with the scenic landscape of North Texas. As an author of contemporary novels, Keniston has been nominated and been a finalist for various awards such as Golden Heart Award. Keniston lives in Dallas with her husband, two children, and two canine friends. Even though she loves her puppies equally, the author admits that she is attached to her German Shepherd Gunny.

Aloha Texas

Aloha Texas is the first book in Aloha series by Chris Keniston. We are introduced to attorney Kara Lynn; she cannot figure out the reason as to why Patty Ann named Nick Harper (a man she does not know) to be the guardian of her five-year-old son and the executor of her estate. There are some exceptions as to reasons why she might not be aware of this, for one she spent time away during her college years despite being a resident of the small western town of Texas.

Kara never imagined that she could two years down the line be carrying out the wishes of Anna’s will and also desperately trying to reach out for Nick Harper. Her investigation leads her to Big Island of Hawaii where he traces our man, Nick the owner of Island Dive Shop. With time quickly running out for Patty Ann, Kara needs to find ways in which she can convince Nick to fly back with her to Texas. Kara and Ann have developed a relationship in the past two months due to Ann’s advancing terminal illness and the fact that she has no other family that can support her. Kara has been spending her time with Ann and her son Bradley providing with her support wherever possible.

Kara is one of the characters you will adore in this story. She takes up a role that many would give all types of excuses to avoid. To her this act of helping has nothing to do with obligations, for she has a heart of gold, she cares about Ann and has come to cherish her adorable son.

Then there is Nick Harper, a retired Navy SEAL, whom for over half a decade, he has not been able to go back to Texas where he grew up. Ten years ago, while on leave in London, Nick’s high school sweetheart broke his heart by rejecting his proposal. This broke the lad’s heart into so many pieces, and since then, Nick has not been able to love again due to the fear of getting heartbroken once again. His love for deep waters has led him to Kona where he and his former SEAL partner have established a successful business.

When Kara finally makes contact with Nick he is shocked to learn that Ann the woman he still cares a lot is dying of lung cancer. After they parted ways six years ago, Ann had made it clear to Nick that he was not the kind of man she wanted in her life. So why did she then name him the executor of her estate? Aloha Texas is a story that will full of dark emotions, featuring amazing characters. First, there is Nick Harper; he is quite an honorable gentleman. Even though he was turned down by the only woman he ever loved, a situation that left him devastated, he did not hold any grudges against her. He is even saddened when he discovers that Ann is dying, he is even more wrecked after he discovers that he had a son all along.

On the other hand, Kara keeps secrets of her own as well; this is probably a reason why she provides a helping hand to people far more than many would ever consider. Nick concerns over his ex-girlfriend and the deer in the headlight look he gives after finding out that he had a son melts her heart somehow. She was not aware that it was Ann who walked away from Nick and what shocks her even the most is the fact that Ann never informed Nick about their son. To Kara, Nick is a good man, and handsome, and she feels that he is somehow different from other people that she has encountered. However, Nick’s inappropriate comment the day the first met reassures her that men are creatures not to be trusted. However, for the sake of Ann and her son, Kara will have to put have with Mr. Handsome long enough just to get things figured out. However, Nick has mastered the art of knocking down any woman defenses, and before she knows it, she is already falling for him.

Chris Keniston has a way lovely voice of narrating a story full of deep emotions. It moves along steadily, the secondary characters are funny, charming, and add flavor to the whole story.

Almost Paradise

Almost Paradise is the second book in Aloha series by Chris Keniston. It is a story about Angela Carson, a young lady whose life seems not be against her. All her life, she wanted to fall in love, love, be loved and have children. However, this is yet to happen, and she fears that she might even die a single lady. Now all she requires is to come up with a plan and figure out what she must do with her life. She is a real estate broker, and for two years now, she has always wanted to be the woman for Nick, (from the first book). Nick has been with almost each single woman on the island but has never shown interest in her.

What Angela has never noticed is Nick’s business partner, Billy. Billy is quite a gentleman; he is the caring man that any woman in need of a husband would never hesitate to approach. He is a military vet, who served a bomb specialist back in the days when he was in service. He quit the military after a bomb shattered his foot. However, Billy has his shortcomings as well; he has never allowed himself to fall in love again for he blames himself for the death of his partner. However, when Angela suffers some medical complications, Billy offers her some help and also helps her achieve her dreams. However, Billy does not realize is that Angela’s dreams are his dreams as well.

   I love the stories about Farraday Country . I wish the last one wasn’t a year away I hope I can keep up with the story ‘. Owen 3-21-23 is along time.
