Chelsea Quinn Yarbro is one of the prominent authors of America who has been writing for the last 40 years. She is well versed in writing successful and interesting novels based on the science fiction, horror, fantasy, mystery and thriller genres. Chelsea was born in Berkeley, California, United States. In her writing career, she has sold more than 80 books, over 70 short fiction novels, and more than 3 dozen reviews, introductions, and essays. Apart from these, she is also known to compose some serious music. Author Chelsea began her career as a professional writer in the year 1961 when she wrote a playwright for a children’s theatre company, which is now long-defunct. After that she switched to writing novels and stories from the mid 1960s and since then, she has not stopped. Chelsea completed her college studies in the year 1963 and after a struggle period of 7 years, she finally went on to become a full time writer in the year 1970. Before that she used to work as a demographic cartographer. Chelsea still likes to draft maps occasionally for her books and also for other writers’ books sometimes. Being a successful author, Chelsea has been able to maintain a huge reference library which contains books based on a variety of subjects such as food, fashion, trade routes, religion, weapons, and law. Chelsea keeps updating her library constantly as she a fascination towards culture and history. For her dedicated contribution towards the English literature, author Chelsea was bestowed with a literary knighthood by the Transylvanian Society of Dracula in the year 1997. Also, she was awarded with the Grand Master award in the year 2003 by the World Horror Association because of her excellent horror novels. The other prestigious awards that Chelsea received in her writing career include the Life Achievement Award by the Horror Writers Association in the year 2009, and another by the World Fantasy Convention in the year 2014. Author Chelsea was enrolled among the Living Legends by the International Horror Guild in the year 2006. She was the first woman to be honored in such a way. Throughout her writing career, she has been a skeptic oculist, having studied all that she could from zoomancy to alchemy. She even worked on several occasions as a professional tarot card reader and as a palmist at the Magic Cellar located in San Francisco, in the late 1970s. Author Chelsea believes that other than her professional accomplishments, she has mastered two other areas in her domestic life, she considers herself as a good cook and a well experienced seamstress. As of today, Chelsea Quinn Yarbro is divorced and lives in San Francisco Bay along with a couple of her beloved cats. When not busy with her writing works, she likes to listen to a symphony or opera and enjoy her peaceful life. The famous Saint-Germain series written by her has now become the longest running vampire series of all time. The novels of this series range widely over different time frames and places. In her successful writing career, Chelsea has used a number of pseudonyms for writing different genres of novels. Some of her famous pen names include Vanessa Pryor, T.C.F Hopkins, Camille Gabor, Quinn Fawcett, Trystam Kith, Terry Nelson Bonner, etc.
One of the successful novel series written author Chelsea is the ‘Sisters of the Night’ series, which consists of a total of 2 books published between the years 1998 and 1999. The first novel of the series was titled ‘The Angry Angel’ and was published by the Avon Books publishing house in the year 1998. In the plot of the novel, it is seen that the main protagonist Kelene strives hard to save her family from the brutal chaos happening in her world. The plot of the novel opens in a distant age where the people are forced to bear the atrocities and brutal nature of the world. In the middle of the chaos, Kelene seems to be the only salvation for her family. She appears as an exquisite and beautiful young lady with golden hair. She is described as just entering the embrace of womanhood and having blessed with a great gift, which seems to be a bless as well as a curse for her. As a part of her gift, she is made the protector of the Militant Angels. For most the times in the 14 years of her life, she has been guided by the messengers of the God. They have also been shielded her parents, sisters and brothers from the devastation and horror done on their neighbors by the cruel and bloodthirsty Ottoman hordes.
The second the novel of the series was published by the William Morrow publishing house in the year 1999. It was titled ‘The Soul of an Angel’. In this novel, Fenice Zucchar is depicted as the main character, who is described by the author as a young and beautiful girl living in the opulent splendor of one of the richest islands of her world. She is the daughter of a powerful and wealthy owner of ocean merchant vessels, who has pampered her throughout her life. Even though she lives in the utmost luxury, her soul yearns for the adventures and beautiful sights of the sea far from Venice, which seems to her as a velvet prison. On the eve of her arranged marriage, Fenice flees away by feigning a kidnapping and boards on one of the ships of her brother. When her brother finds her on the ship, her plans get dashed as he refuses to offer her a quarter and eventually abandons her in the port of Varna. At the same time, the city seems to be descending with panic as dark, strange and alluring being seems to overpower the city and caused death to the citizens. With the help of his dark sensuality, he offers more freedom to Fenice, something that she had never imagined. But, he demands her eternal pleasure as she follows him to the mountain domain. Fenice thinks that she will be spending the rest of her life happily along with her Dark Lord, but he has other plans in mind which seem to be deadly for her. In her fearsome adversary, Fenice is helped by Kelene, who becomes her sister and ally. She waits for the Dark Lord in the mountain domain as she has already been corrupted by the terrible passion of the Dracula. However, she is determined not to let him do the same thing to Fenice.
